For me, it would be Pink Flamingos.

I don't know about me, I'm pretty hard to scare.

Nightmare on Elm Street. The first one.
Yeah...it's cheesy when you look back on it...but I was 10 years old when it first came out on VHS...and the whole "he can only fuck with you when you're asleep" theme certainly led to some sleepless nights...
Freddy Krueger FTW...

As am I. Watch Pink Flamingos. It will leave you shellshocked, traumatized, benumbed, and mortified.
High School Musical
The thought that some people actually like that (and I don't mean kids, I mean some teens and some adults) is very scary indeed.

Not to mention the fact that it spawned a sequel, with another one on the way. ;)
So now there'll be three HSM movies... will I ever get to sleep at night? :(

The only movie that really got to me was The Abominable Doctor Phibes, though I was very young at the time I saw it. I've had really good luck scaring people with Mister Frost with Jeff Goldblum. Every person I've watched it with has refused to go to bed alone that night-which makes it my favorite date film. I have Feast, which I've been told is fairly good, but haven't found time to view it yet. I expect one of the better horror films out there is Night of the Living Dead, and I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Alien scared the fuck outta me when I was 11 or so.

The scariest part of Pink Flamingos for InGenB is his inexplicable hard-on everytime Divine eats the dog-poo. :D

Yeah, but not for the same reasons...
The Egg Lady....
Crackers and his "winking brown eye"...
John Waters' early films are not for the faint of heart, and yet, everyone should see them.
Seriously?
THE scariest movie, ever?
The Exorcist.
Im an opinionated horror movie geek, amongst many things, and nothing comes close to the sheer terror of this film.
There are better movies, but scarier?
No.
Some other ones, are John Carpenter's "The Thing", "In The Mouth of Madness", Dont even get me going on zombie films...
It really depends on what your definition of a "scary" movie is.
If its sheer gore, then "Planet Terror" is a recent one that provides it in spades. Theres some cheese, but its forgivable just for showing a immensely grotesque and bloated Bruce Wyllis.

Hey, I got to see one of the former cast member naked (she wasn't too bad looking), so there's at least one positive for HSM.

The Exorcist and The Thing were both excellent. Neither scared me, but both enthralled me.

Alien scared the fuck outta me when I was 11 or so.Shit, I saw it when I was about 5 years old. Nightmares for a month or something. Still my all-time favourite flick. Probably ruined scary films for me, since none have managed to scare me since, but it was worth it.
On a side note, how is Pink Flamingos scary? Hilariously bad, sure, but scary?
Signs...I hate aliens. -shudders-

The Japanese version of the Grudge movies were pretty scary, although a lot of the scariness was contributed by the fact that I didn't know what the characters were saying (adds to the suspense), and the general slowness of the tense scenes. I had trouble sleeping for a whole month after watching them.
But the American versions are pretty lame in comparison. Seems too pacified and watered down.

Yeah, but whoever she is, she'd never get her gear off in a Disney movie.

Demolition Man. Think about it: in this nightmarish vision of the future, sex and junk food are illegal, the radio play commercial jingles all day long, and all the resturaunts are Taco Bell. If that's not scary, I don't know what is.

I've never been so scared of a movie again. This is primarily because I'm no longer 6, but still.

Bloody graphic at points, it is.
I think two of the scariest films I've seen for a while are Creep and Wolf Creek. Both are bloody good. I have to say, I prefer psychological horrors, rather than ones which just rely on gore. I watched Saw III at the cinema, and after half way through I suddenly thought it was ridiculous and trite. Saw, the first one, was pretty good. Saw II is essentially the same as another film called House of Nine, released a few months before but does it so much better.

Something like Chuckie-the evil toy,it gave me nightmares when i was little.
I didn't see any other movie to scare me,although I think Hostel was one of the better horror movies lately, along with The Island and some weird movie with mad dogs on an island;they're not scary though .Stuff like Final Destination or Freddy vs Jason is plain hilarious.

Napoleon Dynamite. I was horrified that anyone could possibly like it.
I found "Event-Horizon" quite scary...Probably because I was expecting spaceship lazer dogfights and not people speaking latin backwards while being flayed alive.

Eh, it wasn't bad, I guess I was too old when it came out. I was too busy picking apart the sci-fi aspects. Seriously, a drive that folds the entire fucking universe to travel? Jesus.
I avoid horror films.
No real horror movie that I have seen stands out, anyway.
