I think what's being said is that Glenn would do better then most of the people in Congress right now, and at the very least is better than Ann Coulter (which is perhaps the first thing in Beck's defense that I can agree with).

No, I'm asking you what countries would have funding cut off from. Those are two entirely different arguments, and you can't combine them like that.

As I already have said, Israel's oppression of the Palestinians is a motivation for some, but there are other issues as well. Anyone that has lost a family member to a war started by the US and its allies is not going to look favorably at the US. Muslims are also not going to look happily at the fact that the majority of the countries that the US has invaded in recent years have a Muslim majority. Whether this is a war on Islam or not, one could easily claim it is so. People also feel threatened in the West, their religion is mocked and criticized more than any other religion, they are considered to have inferior beliefs. Muslims are also targeted for hate crimes (although I'm not sure who's targeted the most, Muslims are certainly very high up there).

In essence, the Muslim world "feels" it is under attack, and whether it is or not, this causes people, who feel they are backed into a corner, to retaliate violently.

Conservative 'nationalism' is whimsical at best, if a conservative President is in office then burning flags is evil and respecting Presidential authority and the nation is the greatest thing ever, but if a left-leaning or liberal is the President (say Clinton), then it's perfectly legitimate to disrespect the President or Congress. It's funny how according to the Right, a President is only wrapped in the flag when he's conservative, so if you throw mud you're disrespecting the country - but if he's a Liberal it's fair game. I cannot put into words how offensive that is to me. Several people very close to me have disorders that require medication (such as bipolar disorder and severe depression to name a couple). "Lunatic" is an offensive term, and when used in this context, it seems especially vitriolic to me. In addition to being flaming, that comment was ignorant, unfair, and quite offensive.

Please do not make that snide little "take your pills" comment again.

Actually, my pills (for clincal depression) are the only things keeping me from flaming the little troll right back. Since I am taking them at present, I can laugh at him and walk away, which I will now do.
