I'd agree with your definition, though: anyone who believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ is a Christian. There were some early sects which said he was not divine, but I can't think of any exist denomination that believes that.

outside of modern secular societies, such a thing would not only be odd, it would be effectively unheard of and often severely punishable. still is in many more insular and homogeneous areas within such societies, though the punishments are typically informal and social affairs rather than decreed by law.
What suprises me is how personal and facticious it can be in "secular" and "modern" societies. That I can share the festivals of the other religions in my home, and they in mine seems less common that I had hoped, if what is said here is anything to go by... :rolleyes:
