Well, looks like she won't be able to do what a spider can anymore.

That's a bad picture, I want to see how they're articulated.

A girl with four arms and four legs just happens to be born in India. What are the odds? :p

Pretty fucking good considering India has over a billion people.

In India?
To hell with surgery! If I had a daughter with 4 arms in India I'd have her declared a goddess (http://www.gbnc.org/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=48055#455827).

Ditto, same here.

Doesn't it just? "Soon, after the operation, your daughter will be able to weave webs from her fingers! Muahahahaha!"
The operation is finished. She's OK.
Separation surgery on a two-year-old Indian girl who was born with four arms and four legs has been successful, doctors say.
[...] A team of surgeons in the southern city of Bangalore operated on Lakshmi for 27 hours [...].
It is hoped the procedure will allow her to survive beyond adolescence.
"Lakshmi is stable and sound," the doctor leading the operation, Sharan Patil, told a news conference which was shown live on television channels across India.

According to the newspaper, the village she's from thinks she's the reincarnation of something-or-rather.

Yup, very much so. They had footage on CNN last night. It looks a tad disconcerting.

*skews the experiment*
Sucks that she was basically mirror-imaged. Would have been interesting if the other twin was fused to her back, or somehow had both extra arms in a more usable position.:(
