Marathon Hype

Anti-Social Darwinism

I thought Paula Radcliffe won the NYC Marathon. Why, then, all the hype about Katie Holmes running it? Don't get me wrong, on my best day I couldn't run 100 yards and Holmes' participation is certainly worthy of a footnote, but in the article about the actual winner, a preponderance of pictures were of Katie and her husband. And, assuredly it was not worth a separate article all about Katie.

Comments?

Oh, and btw, doesn't Katie look just a little too rested and unbedraggled to have run 26 miles?

Because her chest looks nice when it bounces up and down?

Because Holmes doesn't usually piss in the middle of marathons?

More seriously, on this side of the Pond, I haven't heard a single thing about Holmes. But then, the UK media does tend to go mental over any British sportsperson who can do better than last place.

Just look at the hope invested in Andy Murray, even though he's just as crap as Tim Henman, their last failed hero.

Andy Murry?, Racist bastard!
I can't help it if he spells his name wrong.

I have a vested interest in that 'a'.

1) Because no one gives a rat's ass about the winner of a marathon.
2) Radcliffe is a fucking marathon runner.
3) Katie Holmes is famous.

And I havn't heard a god damn thing about Holmes running it until this thread.

I can only think of three things -

A - It may be because they think shes practicing her escape from the Toothsome One.

B - It may be because she discovered she had a knack for running while she was getting used to the high heels ban.

C - As pointed out by others - nipples.

Are you kidding? Radcliffe isn't even American, let alone a movie star.

Mrs Cruises aren't allowed wear heels in or around the Cruiser himself. Tis true, as far as I'm aware.
