Delayed Blowback Question

Yes this is a thread about firearms, specifically about their method of operation and such. Please keep relies on topic and please don't turn this into a political argument.

Okay, the question is:

Is using a delayed blowback system for a battle rifle (7.92x57 and the ilk) practical? I was thinking of designing something for my nation that uses a delayed blowback (either roller locked or Chamber-ring delayed) with an overhung bolt and recoil spring that wraps around the barrel. Would there be any problems with this? Is it possible to get continuous recoil (I.E. never letting the bolt slam into the receiver on the back stroke) out of a blowback? I'd ask this on the NS draft room but I've yet to be granted post permissions there.

The H&K G3, the Spanish Cetme, and the Stgw. 57/Sig 510 rifle are roller-delayed blowback weapons, so I don't see why it won't be practical.

Man, when I read blowback I hoped for something much more fun.

When I first read the thread title, I immediately thought of paintball (maybe because I was re-assembling my PT-Extreme at the time).

Yeah I was thinking Ron Paul's comment actually.
