I've just taken extensive courses to make myself fluent in German. Are there any Germans/German speakers who know of some good forums to keep myself fluent? All the forums I found are pretty crappy...

If you can stand Germans, try politikforum's discussion board. You get an interesting look at culture and (of course) politics over there without too much slang to confuse you.

The site just froze my other IE window, so I can't link to it, but just go to google and do a search for "politikforum."

not a great help but i play a game called 'tribalwars' (sucks imo but cant quit for now) but they have german based servers with only german based langueage allowed if that helps ... the game is easy imo but if you get taken out after a while it sucks to lose everything (though you can carry on) ... the politics and prop for ingame only rocks though!

and grats on the fleunt german !!! second languages rock!!! im learning chinese at the mo ... but v slow going as i have to visit the chinese takeaway to learn it .. but htree words in week is impressive for me >.< XD ... but multi languages is a great asset so keep up the practice imo

ah im only at the polite greetings and please and thanks stage lol ... if they make me write down what i want to order at the mo im going to be screwed ... people might joke about dog and cat but knowing my luck i will be ordering wolf and sabertooth tiger if i had to write it (if i do some how manage to grasp it (never really did study well >.<) i wouldnt mind trying to learn more))

with the other (decent) links suggested i doubt you will play the german TW but if you do i can give you a few tips if you want that will work there as its the same game as the uk/USA version i play but all in german

bah no pm link so sorry for the off topic post grrrrr ... google swirve and utopia for the best text based game imo (can get away with once per day logins (fingers crossed you land in the right kingdom) to logging in every hour for the super active) ... ive yet to find a game to match it ... or see above for the german TW game though it doesnt compare to stratergy utopia star and diversicty wise .. ive yet to find a match to utopia :( (im still looking (has there been an other online games thread in this forum) Knight Fight and Gangsterz sucks lol)

*edit - if you fancy learning romainian theres is a fair amount of them who band together in both games

You could probably get a good spam thread started in German. Look at the Dutch Thread, it is a humongous abomination of foreign languages and anti-Americanism. Wouldn't you like to be the proud owner of the next one?
