Pumpkins?

Do you carve pumpkins for Halloween? Do you put up other Halloween decorations?

This year I have done three small pumpkins, one for each of my windows that faces the front of the building.

I lived in a sort of a commune for a few years and the place was this old, run down Victorian house with ten bedrooms and a turret. We had the BEST Halloween parties, and I loved decorating that place. My favorite was one year I hung a couple of ghosts in the center of the stairway and they were on a pulley that was attached up on the third floor. When one ghost sank down, the other floated up. I also made a paper maché dragon that was about 15 feet long, with the head, a loop and the tail on the second floor (in an empty bedroom) and a couple of loops hanging down from the ceiling on the first floor. Some dry ice in a pan of water and some clever lighting made the whole thing quite a lot of fun.

This is what I want my pumpkin to look like:

I actually went to the pumpkin patch today, I got 4 giant pumpkins (okay, large-ish, they are about 20lbs each) and a cute little one that my husband said "what the hell are you going to do to that?" because it's too small to carve, so I did something creative with it.

yes, I am that silly.

The other ones will probably get carved tomorrow night. Will post pics if I remember.

I LOVE that. My nano has no outline (and currently no pumpkins, but that may change) just an opening sentence... and I am eager to get going!

thanks! there is a Nationstates thread on the forums at NaNoWriMo, down in the "virtual worlds" board.

also, my novel has a name but not a first line......yet. My outline is pretty though, I think I might sell it on ebay and give the profits to the NaNo folk.

My opening line is "Aunt Merty we kept in a shed."

I am wildly interested to see where it goes from there.

I like your ebay idea!
