To make sure everyone is on the same page who doesn't know, the Southeast US is in a major drought. Like it would take months of above average rainfall to get water levels up to normal levels. Georgia is pissed because the lake that provides water for a good part of the state, especially Atlanta, is losing tons of water because the Army Corps of Engineers is letting water out of it per some lines in some Protectionary act, either Environmental or Endangered Species, it isn't important, what is important is that it didn't really matter until the lake turned into about 10 feet below normal levels. And what is Florida's beef about Georgia wanting to hold water into the lake they derive water from? It will hurt their commercial fishing. Only Florida.

In North Carolina, at least in the Charlotte region, we're in our third day of rain. Sadly, Friday will be the last full day of rain. :( However, four days of nothing but rain is good, hopefully it'll help our drought situation up here.

Sorry to hear about the rest of South East though.

Are the commercial fishes the ones that are endangered? Because I can understand releasing water to preserve species, but just to keep fishing stocks nice and high is silly. It could be that the ACE hand's are tied if endangered species are actually in danger. So I would say that it is important, why the ACE are releasing water. Florida are being asses, though.
