I make approximately equal amounts of pasta and sauce and mix them together. Then I drown the pasta and sauce in cheese.

It depends on what kind of pasta it is.

Yeah I'm with the person on the link. You gota have lots of sauce, a single drop of pasta with no sauce on, well whats the point?
I don't like too much more sauce then needed to coat the pasta. Otherwise I might as well eat soup, and I don't like soup.

When I'm done cooking the pasta, I add just enough sauce to keep it from sticking, add cheese and eat. My wife drowns her pasta in sauce. Its a divorce in the making.

I'm pretty much the same. Just enough sauce for flavor. Nice al dente pasta, and a dash of cayenne pepper in the sauce, mm.

I’m with Bittman on this. Not a fan of meat-based sauces myself, I generally go light on the pasta itself, and am heavy handed with the sauce ladle. Alfredo sauce I try to keep reasonable, though.
For that matter, I’m more a fan of risotto than pasta as far as Italian starches go. That’s my northern Italian heritage in action, I think.

I use about twice as much pasta as sauce, mostly for economic reasons. Pasta is cheap, sauce is not.
And no cheese.
