Do you enjoy your job?

Since the dawn of time man has had to wake up at 6am, once it was a case of hunting T-Rexes now it involves going to an office to hunt down tech support (difference?)

long story short do you like working/stealing my taxes?

I can say I don't, I've got a job at barclays which involves the dreaded office work! its easy but what does one do when bored? do boring jobs make boring people? is my soul worth £7.50 an hour?

On a grander scale, to provide ourselves with an economy that can produce the essentials and luxuries we need and want.

As someone who has taken a year off work to do an internship, I'll say that's probably true. It certainly feels like I have less work, though that may be because I'm working on it 9-5 instead of fannying about.

I work in a shitty job and get paid $6 (USD) an hour, which is below minimum wage in the state I live in (Michigan) and below minimum wage in most other states.

It sucks.

its hard to say. i get to sleep in and get up at 9 (to be in at 11), which is great as i'm all but dead too early in the morning. but i work usually till 7 or 8, so my evenings are kinda short. its stressful but i earn ok. i'm challenged regularly and am always having to grow and learn new skills (which is good). its a family business so there's a whole special bonus of emotional problems, but then there's also great motivation and drive (ie to help my family). its in a decent office, in a nice town, walking distance to shops for lunch, but its a small business and not seeing more than 4 or 5 different people a day makes things very lonely sometimes.

all in all i'd say its a good job, but made harder for the emotional issues and the stress (that never goes away when you talk about work at home all the time, too)

My job is stressful, life consuming, I had to move to a city I don't likem I don't get out of the house as much I'd like, crushes my dreams and I can't even do it since I'm going on strike. The financial rewards and the fact I don't have to get up early make up for it somewhat.

Man failed to realize that half of us want to go to bed at 6 am and wake up when they go for lunch.

Still up the same amount of time, but it's a question of when.

Also, I am a student. That's a fulltime, 50 hour a week job in itself (in theory) and I get paid for it too.

I would love my job, IF I didn't have to work one or two days a week OT. My shifts are 12 hours each which means I don't get any time to do anything during the week, but (In theory) I have three to four days a week off. Sadly, I only get those long weekends about once every few months.

Right now I'm a grad student studying to become an Occupational Therapist, and I love it. I am excelling in my courses and I am doing better than most of the people in my medical classes (which is awesome). When I start my internship I hope to do it at a hospital and I hope it'll be like Scrubs. I know it won't be but still, at least a Dr. Cox.

Well in my opinion generally you do not get the same amount of effort out of minors as you would an adult. I know there are exceptions but that is a general rule in my book and apparently in state lawmakers books as well.

Did you forget to mention the drinking beer with the women? That is what I remember from summer camp. The kids were left on their own the majority of the night while the counselors were getting drunk and making out with each other.

It depends what day of the week it is. Sometimes love it, sometimes loathe but I keep turning up ;). The practise of working is something I like, it's just that it involves those darn humans. Life would be easier if it didn't have so many people in it! :p

We smoke a lot of weed. For added fun, the camp directors are the reincarnated souls of Stalin and Mussolini (godwin avoided!) and are constantly on the prowl. Avoiding them is a game in itself.

We've actually been in a dry spell for hot counselor on counselor action, but I believe this year is a return to our former glory.

So fire them if they aren't doing a good job. There are plenty of other teenagers to hire.

My state apparently doesn't have that law.

It ranges from good to appallingly bad.

I like the people I work with. I dislike one of my supervisors. Most of my customers are good people. But, I feel that I do far too much for only $6.50 an hour... If I made $8.50 an hour, I really would have no reason to complain.

Well, I'd still complain about that one supervisor, because she sucks.

Doing joe jobs I would, each time, say to myself, "If they give me keys, make me a supervisor, I'm gonna say no. I'm just a monkey, I'm just here to do my monkey work and go home." And each time I totally failed at that (not because I'm an extra special monkey worker, I just would stick around long enough that it was inevitable.) And each time I'd know, "Man, one of these little fuckers can't stand my ass. All I wanted was to do my monkey work and go home...and now I have to feign concern over someone elses monkey work so that they can hate me. And all I got was an extra dollar or two an hour."

The moral is...I don't know, actually. Don't stick around long enough to be the person someone else hates I guess.

I was a crappy supervisor...or a good one, depending I guess. As long as everyone did enough that I didn't have to get involved I didn't care what they did.

I'd bet my life that you were a crappy supervisor just because of that. My other supervisors are good to very good --- that one in particular is shit just because of that one reason. She doesn't give two shits about anybody but herself, and is just going through the motions until the shift's over.

Stop and think about it for a minute.

what goes on a chicken bacon ranch sandwich?

everyday that happens, my faith in humanity lowers a bit

I absolutely love my job. My current shop is absolutely incredible, but when we don't have enough to do, that usually is a recipe for disaster. For example, a few months ago they were teaching me how to exact revenge on my enemies by causing their phone to do really obnoxious things. Emitting loud, shrill, unrelenting tones, vibrating, etc. Usually if there are no work orders, they just sit around the shop and end up being destructive. That's about to change..

I love my job. One of my favorite parts of the job is making fun of someone in such a way that he doesn't realize he's been made fun of and is confused as to why others are laughing. This is fairly easy to do with children(you wouldn't believe how readily some parents will laugh at their children's bewilderment), but it's much more satisfying to do it with adults. :)
