Ruffy's growin' up, ya'll.

After stressing over what to do with my life, I have decided that the best thing for me to do is to go to a private university and spend all of my parent's money in the process. I will get to experience what the real world is like by smoking a lot of weed, and experimenting with a variety of drugs. In the process of using said narcotics, I will also get myself a degree in Photography and think about getting a job in that field. Or maybe I'll just live at home until my parents drop dead and I inherit all of their stocks, bonds, bank accounts, and other valuables such as their organs, which I will sell on the black market.

Perhaps I'm being naive and foolish, what with already making contacts with important people in the mafia and elsewhere to secure a place for mommy dearest's organs, but I feel that's a lot easier than getting a real job.

Ladies and gentlemen, after all of these wonderful years of ignorance, it's finally here. I'm a senior. I have appointments at schools and a worry about the future. I am unprepared and absolutely fucked.

I wish I was still in pre-school. :(

Eh at first I was really stupid about it, I was lazy, and I didn't do things till the last minute, but now, I do things ahead of time, and it's paying off, I'm doing the best I've ever did in Undergrad this semester of Grad School. I wouldn't be surprise if I saw a 3.5 GPA. :)

Right now I am in Grad School to become an Occupational Therapist, and on the weekends, I see my girlfriend who is a CNA. Here's a pic of us together.

(You can blame the fuzziness on my mom who doesn't know that she has to set the Auto Adjuster first and then take the picture.)

I'm going to school to be a hotel manager. It requires 10 years of experience in hospitality, and I have only completed 1.

So, knit socks, and post on NSG? I can do that! Well, I'd have to learn how to knit.

Screw that! But I'll make $80,000 starting, and then have the potential to earn as much as $300,000 if I get high places.

I dealt with it by quitting dealing with anything, including school, for a few weeks, and than running away and moving. Very healthy.

Should I be offended....?Depends on your view of 4chan and internet memes.
At one time it was cool to post motivators with the Mindfuck-When you see it, you will shit bricks. Most were quite subtle and you wouldn't notice anything wrong without the caption. Sometimes Mindfuck was changed as a hint or comedic effect. Now some people do them just to throw people off. People will spend 10 minutes looking at a perfectly fine picture to find something wrong with it. The latter is what I did.
The default is yes, you should be offended.

I have thus far largely avoided growing up. I'm still in school. I'm doing a master's degree in astronomy. I might do a phd next.

But yeah, I get paid to go to school and I'm possibly getting a free trip to Hawaii (*crosses fingers hoping the funding comes through*). This isn't bad for my first year, imo.

If you still have to experiment with drugs, then you have a long way to mature. It's when you no longer have to experiment and know which drugs are best for you that you have come into full bloom. :)

Right now I am entering my second year out of high school. I look back and see how easy and care-free such times were. My greatest worry was getting an English essay in on time. Wow, was that stressful and demanding? Over the past year and a half I looked over my shoulder at the life I once lived, the memories wether they be good or bad. A time of love found and lost. Of friends coming and going. I joined the U.S. Navy three weeks after graduating in June 2006 because my family did not have the money to send me through college and I also didn't want to spend the next twenty years paying off loans. I went from the protected enviroment of high school to a for real; no shit world. It was a dramatic change which forced me to mature drastically fast in a short amount of time or else I wouldn't survive. In this harsh military enviroment I learned more about myself and my capabilities as a person than anywhere else. I matured, grew more patient, and realized that not much upsets me anymore because I've experienced so much in this seemingly short amount of time. It took fortitude, grit, and common sense to make it to this point and I think these qualities will carry me till I die.

I have managed to avoid growing up for about 4 years now, and have at least another 3 left.

The government just keeps on giving me money, living under the delusion that I'm going to pay it back to them. Hah!

Once the money runs dry the plan is to move to a country that doesn't have an extradition treaty with the UK. I think my best bet is China. They don't seem so concerned with other country's problems, but more concerned with making money. This is why I have started learning Mandarin this year.

I'll be doing what my brother is doing. He lives in the Philippines and has to pay Philippines prices, but gets paid in UK wages for web design. Except I won't be doing web design - it doesn't interest me so much.

Add that together with inheritance investments in the East Asian markets and cha-ching! :D

I'm still avoiding it, despite being in my 2nd year at university. I still don't know what I want to do after graduating, and still haven't had a proper job yet, even in the holidays. Perhaps I'll do a post-grad just to put it off longer.

I fought against it with all my might, failed, and got a job that meant I'd forever be around teens.

;)

(Of course that overlooks the working in Manhattan in the media orbit, going back to school and studying my butt off for five additional years, and taking a raftload of tests -- all very adult and responsible things.)

I'm a senior too. :)

I've been accepted to the University of South Florida, which is my first choice (so I'm not going to apply anywhere else), and also to their Honors College and College of Engineering. I also apparently have 28 credit hours already. :) And I'm still taking six more AP exams this year.

I feel like I'm getting more mature from driving now, and since I have to be in charge of my brothers and pack a lunch for one of them and make sure they get to school on time with me (they're both 15).

oh if only i had been as organized as you are when i was a senior in highschool. you are wise beyond your years.

my only advice about your plan is to make sure that you go to the school that the spoiled children of the rich go to. they will be happy to share their dope with you and take you along on the skiing vacations and perhaps share their summer on the family yacht sailing in the mediterranean. sucking up to rich people--priceless. going on your own requires mommy's mastercard.

growing up is a natural process. it just happens and suddenly you are a repsonsible adult. the creepy part is that it seems GOOD to you.

no need to worry. life is an adventure. there are no wrong answers. go to the best school you can get into for your field (find professional photographers that you admire and ask them what they did. do that.) you will probably be as successful as your ambition deems necessary. even if you "fail" its the process that is important. not the end.

its not as if when you die and go to heaven st peter asks you "did you take a pulitzer prize winning photo?" and when you have to say no he sends you to hell.
