Government is too big!

Conserative Morality

Government has gotten far too large. It has passed the constitutional limits and now they invade our privacy in the name of "national security".Day by day big brother is getting stronger and the constitution is almost compleatly ignored.
Heck they act like the constitution is some arcane docuent only polititions can understand! The constitution is in plain english, not pig latin or Mandarin it was made to RESTRICT the government, not give it more power. However the polititions take away more of our freedom every day!To quote Benjamin franklin(correct me if its somone else)"Somone who Sacrifices a little liberty for a little security, deserves neither and will lose both"and that what they seem to be doing.

The government is more concerned about other nations and other people rather than its own. Thats whats really wrong with our country.

Where is the "Smash the State!" option?

And it's not a question of the Gov getting large, it's more of a question of the slippery slope and "freedom for safety" rhetoric with terrorism as a pretext to curb civilian liberties. Norway's government isn't small, but it is a quite liberal country where civilian liberties are more respected than in US.

You mean classical first four posts...on the same thread. I can't recall any real people who actually did that ever, so I'm calling fake.

On the contrary - we don't have big enough government. Social issues should be completely outside the remit of government, but everything else should be regulated, hard.

*nods*

Anti-US, eh? So that means I have to favour either incorporating the nation into another or splitting it into multiple nations. Otherwise, it would just be anti-US's-current-politics...

OK, then... Hawaiian independence!

i agree with the poster of this thread. the government is way too big and it needs to be reduced a lot. if it gets to big then a lot of ppl are going to :mp5::mp5::mp5::mp5::sniper::sniper::sniper::sniper::sniper::sniper:and it wont be good

Naturally, but that's rather unfeasible. Not that Hawaiian independence isn't, but the tiny chance that the US gov would allow them to secede is higher than the chance of convincing them to rejoin the Empire.

Government has gotten far too large.

Partially agree. Government is too large because nations are too large.
But that's not what you mean I guess. You mean as a proportion of a country's economy ...?

No, hang on. It's a rave about the restriction of civil liberties:

I think it was Franklin, but he said it different ways at different times. They didn't have much to put a bumper sticker on back then.

What you are objecting to, I am also very concerned about. But Big Government refers to government taxing and spending too much, which you say nothing about.

Talking points get all tangled together if stored improperly.

Classical first posts.

Not really. In the classical first-post-with-sniper, the sniper is used to symbolically assassinate another poster. Here it used to show a well ordered militia (all shooting each other, of course!)

One such post would have been quite sufficient, of course.
