Democrat Riles GOP With War Comment (http://news.aol.com/story/_a/democrat-riles-gop-with-war-comment/20071019091009990001)

Representative Pete Stark has boiled over and issued a statement which explicitly blurted out what was probably in the minds of quite a few people as it is. Republicans of course bend over to the Bushevik will and condemn such an open move.

But damn, this is the first time a Democrat just didn't give a shit about what others would think and blurted out something vicious. Let's hope he doesn't retract and waffle.

Now we get to look forward to a subcommitte hearing on whether or not to pass a nonbinding resolution condemning him.

On one occasion in 2001 he and then then-Rep. J.C. Watts of Oklahoma had to be separated after Stark claimed all of Watts' children were illegitimate. In fact only two of Watts' six children had been born out of wedlock.

I don't know why, but the tone here just strikes me as quite amusing.

Starks comments violated Floor Rules.

Not to mention they were completely unfounded. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Shrubya's handling of the war, possibly hundreds of reasons, but there's no evidence Dear Leader gets a thrill seeing men die.

"Earlier this year, Stark became the first member of Congress to publicly proclaim himself an atheist."

Gosh they let people in the democratic party who don't worship Gore as their deity? :D

I agree with the angry Republicans on this one. This is something you expect to see coming from a troll on NSG, not a member of the House of Representatives.

Since Stark has been warned before, he's going to get deated - but he will be allowed to change his name and run for congress again.

If I can remember correctly, it was also Rep. Fortney "Pete" stark who made an offending comment about Rep. Nancy Johnson (R, Conn.) as being a "whore for the insurance industry", adding that "the gentleman from Washington [Rep. Jim McDermott] got his medical degree by going to school, while the gentlelady got hers through pillow talk." (Rep. Johnson's husband is a physician). Rep. Stark has a history of issuing remarks that would most likely be called flaming in NSG...

BBC Parliament shows that the House of Commons is actually like that. It's really quite entertaining.

Tony Blair, militant liberal?

Other than that, it's like watching BBC Parliament, and people say politics isn't fun.:)

Wow, the USA has found themselves a proper parliamentarian and it only took them almost two and a half centuries. Too bad they'll not know to appreciate their undeserved, and incredible, fortune.

Your ignorance and arrogance regarding American government remain outstanding, Fass. We have a long history of inflamatory and outspoken members of the House. Pete Stark, while a breath of fresh air in comparison to the cowardice and weasle-politics of Pelosi and Reid, is not the first or the last Representative to be inflamatory.

And, as is your wont, you fall into using meaningless attacks, rather than attempting to in any way defend or support your position. Put up or shut up, bucko.
