You're not very familiar with the F1 drivers' championship and the points awarded for each GP, are you?

I hope Hamilton, but I get the feeling Alonso. Whiny little shit doesn't deserve it, but I think the pressure will get to Hamilton this last race and he'll crash out.
Slight possibility Raikkonen, but again I don't wish him to win it - not because he's obnoxious in any way (like Alonso), but because I'm sick of Ferrari winning it always.

What has the rest of the world heard, because most of what I heard is British press so biased to hyping Hamilton it's useless.

We could have a match with the pro-Ferrari bias of the Italian press.

Hamilton will win it because Bernie Ecclestone knows that that will boost the appeal of the sport. Then Max 'Son of a Fascist' Moseley will backtrack on the agreement not to take drivers points away to make sure that it goes to Raikkonen.

I'm really, really hoping it won't be Alonso. I've always hated the guy, but after the way he behaved this year I wouldn't even have him in my car anymore if I was the Norbert Haug.

I don't mind the other two. Hamilton is new blood, so I like him and Raikkonen's a favourite of mine just because he's got no nerves (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6PeTD3JyF4).

Still: Go Vettel, go!

Vettel has been very impressive this year. Felt very sorry for him over the one obvious cock-up, but he is clearly a better driver than the car he is in.

I don't mind either Hamilton or Alonso. Hamilton is good, but he's been acting too big headed in my opinion (understandable really, but he started off as a guy with his head screwed on) and Alonso's been throwing hissy fits, but it's got to be better than Ferrari!

Alonso appears to be universally disliked (except possibly in France). He is certainly disliked here in Brazil.

To be honest if a year ago English sports fans had been offered Hamilton coming joint second in the Championship and getting to the final of the Rugby World Cup then they'd have taken it in a flash.

Well, the press here are so shocked at a Brit getting close to winning their prepared to slag of anyone getting in his way.

Rugby World Cup finalists and a english driver joint 2nd in the championships. Really my heart bleeds for you....

English sport fans need to get some perspective. Not only would it make watching your teams playing more enjoyable but it would lessen the insane media pressure on them. Honestly, the way that the papers turm on managers and teams when something goes wrong, it actually makes me wince.

Hold the parties, Hamilton could still be champion.

Possible irregularities in fuel used by BMW and Williams might disqualify them, and if they do Hamilton is champion.

Screw that.

If I were Hamilton I would refuse it if I won it that way. I think it would cheapen the victory to win by default and take away from the amazing thing he accomplised this season.

Would do good for the sport too: A cabinet championship after one of the most remarkable races in recent history?

1 minute ago on www.fia.com . Looks definitive - if it is, Räikkönen is drivers' champ.

1. Kimi Räikkönen (FIN)
2. Lewis Hamilton (GB)
3. Fernando Alonso (E)
4. Felipe Massa (BR)

How so? Last two rounds Hamilton's car has performed poorly and Eccleston's favourite team comes out winning both the constructor's and driver's championships yet again.
If that doesn't smack of fixed, then what does?

FIA decided not to punish them since the most advantage they could have gained was a second over the whole course of the race, Mclaren are appealing though.

I've said all year that Raikkonen would win, and it's nice to see I was right. For once.

Since him and Ferrari got it together after Indy, he's scored 5 wins. Alonso's managed 2, and Massa and Hamilton have taken a single victory each. He's scored the best part of 30 more points than Hamilton, in a car that, on average, has been at about the same level as the McLaren.

Next year he may well be unstoppable.

Mechanical failure is a suck ass way to lose a championship.

With Newey no longer designing the McLarens that might have been his best chance.

Yeah, but Raikkonen lost 14 points through the season to mechanical retirement...

Newey hasn't been designing the McLaren's for a few seasons now :P

He's been at Red Bull since the start of last year.

Yeah, it just hurts more when it comes down to the last. No one remembers the lost downs in the second quarter, only the missed field goal in the last seconds of the fourth.

Yeah, well, that's what I get for not paying attention. I thought he had just moved over.

I wish someone had told me earlier that the F1 season was actually interesting this year.

Now that I finally have the Speed Channel maybe I can pay attention next year...though it will probably turn back into a parade as soon as I start watching ;p

I missed this race because I was watching the season finale of sports cars, with all classes actually being decided on the final race. It was cool, except that no one I wanted to come out on top did. Seriously, Cadillac taking a constructors championship over Porsche? Fucking surreal...
