I've been thinking, is nazism within all westerner's nature? or all mankind's nature? (It seems to be more common in the western world than anywhere else(remember the bloody medieval ages for example)
The nazis beleived that the Germans were the master race ans wanted all others wiped out. When you look at humanity as a whole all throughout history all the different tribes, kingdoms, nations and peoples believed that they were to rule the world and wanted to destroy all others who weren't part of their group. Are all humans nazis deep down. Do we all tell ourselves we are part of the master people and that it is imparitive to destroy all others?
Discuss.

Many leaders try to convince their citizens that their country, religion, or culture is the best, because then they are willing to attack everyone else. I don't think anyone tried to convince anybody else that their race was the best until darwin's theory of evolution came out. People starting misinterpreting it and becoming obsessed with pedigrees.

But even before Darwin we always had this tribalism, this desire to wipe out those who differ from the group we[humans] were a part of. Thats why tribes fought, thats why European kingdoms constantly warred, they wanted to be dominant and dominate over all others, thats why empires fought and competed with their colonies and such. Heck Islam wants all non-muslims dead or converted and they existed long before Darwin.

What do you mean by "nature?" There's really very little "natural" about a political ideology because politics themselves are a product of civilization - excepting small-scale, "tribal" politics that we all learn about by who sits where in 5th grade lunch time.
But if by "nazism" you mean things like - xenophobia, bigotry, a tendency to regard "others" as "less than me," and a mob mentality - perhaps this has a basis in nature.
The nazis beleived that the Germans were the master race ans wanted all others wiped out. When you look at humanity as a whole all throughout history all the different tribes, kingdoms, nations and peoples believed that they were to rule the world and wanted to destroy all others who weren't part of their group. To an extent there is that tendency - not necessarily by race or anything specific like that, but by an arbitrarily chosen "us versus them" dividing line. Since we're social animals this is pretty natural - to form groups, and then there are people outside of the group, who though of the same species are nevertheless outsiders and possibly a threat to be battled.
But I don't think the desire to Exterminate others is really natural. Or perhaps it might be, but the human ability to do this really well brings it out more than it does in (for example) chimp society. Chimps make war on other apes, but they don't invent nationalist propaganda to justify it and they generally just engage in raids and social posturing.

But being a different race is not the same as having a disagreement.
People who preach hate often try to make it seem like they are only trying to make the world a better place. They say the world would better if we take over this country and make them act better. Racists say the world would be better if we simply eliminate people who aren't the same, or make them move someplace else. In the old days a jew could avoid persecution from the Spanish inquisition by converting, but because of racism anyone with "jewish blood" was a target for the nazis, no matter what they converted to. I think this is a pretty new phenomenon.

I believe tribes usually fought over resources...

National Brotherhood Week
By Tom Lehrer
Oh, the white folks hate the black folks,
And the black folks hate the white folks.
To hate all but the right folks
Is an old established rule.
But during national brotherhood week, national brotherhood week,
Lena Horne and Sheriff Clarke are dancing cheek to cheek.
Its fun to eulogize
The people you despise,
As long as you dont let 'em in your school.
Oh, the poor folks hate the rich folks,
And the rich folks hate the poor folks.
All of my folks hate all of your folks,
Its american as apple pie.
But during national brotherhood week, national brotherhood week,
New Yorkers love the Puerto Ricans cause its very chic.
Step up and shake the hand
Of someone you cant stand.
You can tolerate him if you try.
Oh, the protestants hate the catholics,
And the catholics hate the protestants,
And the hindus hate the moslems,
And everybody hates the jews.
But during national brotherhood week, national brotherhood week,
Its national everyone-smile-at-one-another-hood week.
Be nice to people who
Are inferior to you.
Its only for a week, so have no fear.
Be grateful that it doesnt last all year!
