In an attempt to test a theory, I shall ask the following question:

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Personally, I'm into Vanilla, but Mint is a very close second (a mixture of the two would be bliss).

Inaccurate poll to follow.

...

I'll be clickin' by your house about two forty-five
Sidewalk sundae strawberry surprise,
I got a cherry popsicle right on time
A big stick, mamma, that'll blow your mind

'Cause I'm the ice cream man, I'm a one-man band (yeah)
I'm the ice cream man, honey, I'll be good to you.

Baby, missed me in the alley, baby, don't you fret
Come back around and don't forget,
When you're tired and you're hungry and you want something cool,
Got something better than a swimming pool

'Cause I'm the ice cream man, I'm a one-man band
I'm the ice cream man, honey, I'll be good to you.
'Cause I'm the ice cream man, I'm a one-man band
I'm the ice cream man, honey, I'll be good to you.

See me coming, you ain't got no change
Don't worry baby, it can be arranged:
Show me you can smile, baby just for me
Fix you with a drumstick, I'll do it for free

'Cause I'm the ice cream man, I'm a one-man band
I'm the ice cream man, honey, I'll be good to you.
Be good to you, be good to you,
Good to you yeah, good to you yeah, good to you yeah, good to you yeah,
Good to you yeah, good to you, I'll be good to you, I'll be good to you...

I wouldn't feed most of the stuff you plebes call ice cream to my dog. When I require frozen dairy refreshment, there is only one kind fit for me: The obscenely expensive kind. (http://gridskipper.com/travel/new-york/serendipitys-1000-ice-cream-sundae-154934.php)
Gold and vanilla, mmm . . .
In fact, I rather fancy getting a reservation to eat one at least 48-hours in from now.

If I understood correctly, the ice cream itself has gold leaf put upon it?

Well, at least gold isn't toxic.

Real homemade. Not the half/half stuff. The kind made with half heavy cream and lots of eggs.

Alas, it is just impossible to find a farmer that will sell the ingredients.

Freedom flavored ice cream? I wonder if that would sell for a hefty price in the US.

Better question: How do you claim to have freedom flavored ice cream?

Bacon and egg, coffee, roasted garlic, chocolate.

how can ANY nationalistic 'dream' not be the complete antithisis of anything resembling any sort of real freedom?

FREE people dream their own damd dreams, not ones bearing the names of nations (or idiologies, or beliefs or ...)

It is an actual Ben & Jerry's flavor, described as "Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge Covered Waffle Cone Pieces & a Caramel Swirl"

Never had it myself, but it sounds good, and Colbert kicks ass.

Quite a lot of gold, that's how they make it so expensive. It's kind of sad, really, that the best thing those who cater to the fabulously wealthy can come up with to make Super Luxury Foods is loading it down with truffles or edible gold.
Where's the adventure? Where's the combinations of "no fewer than three of the most exotic ingredients from each of the six continents over which civilized man has claimed dominance?" Where are the endangered species smuggled from China and Africa? Where are the exotic herbs and plants which are believed among their native people's to render a man either blind or capable of seeing the future?

I object to the idea that mint choc chip is placed in the oddball category. Surely it comes second only to the big three of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

On an unrelated note, I was just reading the wikipedia article on icecream and apparently Margaret Thatcher invented that soft icecream that's squirted into the cone. Well helped invent it anyway.

I own an ice cream maker. During the summer we make tons of ice cream.

I made one this year my husband has dubbed "fat ass diabetic shock"

it's vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge, Reese cups, Butterfingers, M&M's, and peanut butter.

We tried adding more stuff to it, but eventually we ended up with a bowl of candy......so we backed off.

Well, I love anything minty, but it's still odd.

Margaret Thatcher and Ice Cream ??? I didn't know they had anything in common.

Odd category!

Alternatively, Odd + Mixture, since it's a bit of both.

Note: I do love mint chocolate chip, but that doesn't make it any less odd ;)

Lemon or key lime. Fruits of the forest (blue-, rasp-, and blackberry) is a good flavor, too. I get intense cravings for cinnamon, too.

Vanilla, although I don't each ice cream much. When I do I prefer a good milk shake ... like some fruit mixtures with vanilla .. especially peach, strawberry, cherry etc. and the occasional reese cup or oreo. Place around here called Cook Out has some goood shakes. Very thick. :) And Frozen yogurts are good too.

i'm rather partial to mocha flavoured ice cream. i had an amazing one in venice. and pistashio. and rum and raisin. i also had a lettuce flavoured one and a carrot flavoured one in venice. the lettuce one was actually quite nice. the carrot just tasted of raw carrot, needed more sugar and maybe some mascarpone and orange peel so it could taste like carrot cake.

It's been a while since I've seen the name written, to be honest.

I should have made a separate category for nuts.
