Yep, I just double checked, and this may be the oldest news of all here at NS, but I just *shrug* find it kinda funny..
The Care Bear brigade watches what you say on the RMB's - you can say boob, or breast, or sex, or sexual, but if you try to enter a post say about Mr. Cheney, ...Your message appears to contain inappropriate language.
wait one, maybe I ought to check here in forums, perhaps the little Richard isn't allowed here either...
What in the heck are they doing - if they are going to ban one they sure as heck ought to ban the some others; or is this simply a case of word Inequity?
Boob is less offensive than a particular male name? A reverse discrimination?
What about Dick York, Dick Sargent, Dick Young, Dick Tracey, Dick & Jane, Dick Cavett, Dick Butkus, Dick Van Dyke, Dick Bremer, Dick van Patton...just to name a few...

I think if you were to reread Tanaara's post, you'd see that Tanaara was talking about the regional message boards (RMB), not the forums themselves.
Just a thought.
And to remain on topic, yes, that is a bit strange. I've got only one thing to say to that.

I think it's a similar reason they banned offensive words in thread titles, schools use nationstates and they don't want pupils seeing the language, but they're not allowed on the forums so within threads any profanity goes.
Just wondering...
NationStates is played by school children, thus Max keeps it G-rated. Simple.

I'm not trying to raise a fuss, I just find it funny that proper names, allowed on birth certificates and in churches as well as on the air ( TV & Radio) and movies aren't G- rated enough for class rooms, which may well contain a Dick or two themselves...
