How your blood pressure?

If the sheer idiocy of some of the posts on NSG is an indication, for the rational folks it should be pretty high.
Personally, both my parents and both my sisters have high blood pressure, and yet I'm the odd one out and I have low blood pressure. (It sucks just as much, believe me).
So. Little high, little low, or the poor boy with normal blood pressure?
Random poll threads ftw.
EDIT: Oops. Spelled "How's" wrong. This is what happens to the human brain after 24 hours no sleep.

I don't know. I'm like 16, I never got it tested. I'm a veggie and an average weight, I think I'm okay.
I do know when I get injured I hardly ever bleed at all. Is that a sign of low blood pressure?

My blood pressure was always low - dangerously low even. However, a recent test, done about 8 years had gone my since my last one, marked it a little higher than normal. I'm not really sure why, and I hadn't slept in about 35 hours before the test, but I'll probably be more mindful of it now.

I'm 15 and when it comes to blood, I'm the black sheep of the family. I have low blood pressure when EVERYONE else in my family has high blood pressure (I'm talking parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, EVERYONE!). On top of that, my mom has essentialthrombyscytosis (don't quote my spelling) meaning that she has a platelet count in the 500 millions, way, way, WAY higher than normal, and yet when I bleed, it doesn't seem to stop for ages.
Thanks for the randomness and asking though!

high.
it used to be low-normal...
then i was put on a variety of psychiatric medications that affected my heart.
now my blood pressure is high, my heart rate resting is 112, and my ECG results are abnormal...

You're a medical miracle. So much so that it's a miracle you're still around to type that post.

Mine is and always has been low. It's pretty cool. Who doesn't love to pass out randomly? (Middle of physics class? Excellent time. At work? Even better. Karate? Ha. So good it happened more than once. I don't know how I survived six years of it.)
I appear to be "growing out of it", so to speak; it's still low (I can't remember exact numbers), but I haven't fainted in... a year or so. Coming from a girl who used to get dizzy near-black out periods almost daily for awhile, that's pretty good.

mine's 120/80 when my GP does it.
However when I go to the hospital they reach for the electronic sphyg.
I ask them not to use it.
they use it but don't put the bit that is supposed to go over my artery in the right place.
They have 3 attempts at trying to take my BP with the cuff pumping up to 220 mmHg - not fun.
than they get a manual sphyg and tell me my BP is a little high - yeah like I'm surprised at that.

i'll live ;)

Well within safe levels. Which is a shame because I'd love to jet about fifty feet if punctured. *nod*
All I know is that I have too much blood in my alcohol system.

Don't let age fool you. When I was 16, I was extremely active and involved in martial arts. Yet, like my dad, despite my diet (which was pretty good), I was a healthy weight but I had high blood pressure. Hypertension. No fun.
Conversely, low blood pressure can be a dangerous thing as well.
It's important to keep an eye on your blood pressure even if you're young.
Mine is being artificially lowered with medication now because the hypertension was actually causing more problems than initially thought.
I'm just telling you this from experience. I'm only 24 and I take two meds to keep my blood pressure in the normal range. I'm typically 109/86. It may look high for some, but when you've got hypertension (which is genetic), this is considered low.
Blood pressure is interesting because there are very simple things that can affect a reading, such as nicotine or caffeine. Talking while you're blood pressure is being taken can change the results significantly.
Omega-3 fish oil is good for the heart and blood pressure. :)
109/86 is a bit low. Mine usually runs 120-130/75-80. I think last time it was 126/78.

That's not bad, but mine's a bout a step lower than that.
My average blood pressure reading is 86/66 with a pulse of 64. Needless to say, I can ride my bike at a fast pace pretty much indefinitely, until I have to stop for the obligatory gallon of water.
the doctor recently took it and he didn't say anything about it, so I guess it's fine.
also, I didn't know condition and blood pressure were correlated, I really need to start doing some sports.

Like I said, I'm taking 2 blood pressure meds; Vasotec and Cozaar, and two of each, so it's four a day (on top of my other meds). My blood pressure used to be extremely high.
And here's something for other women here to consider: birth control pills can increase blood pressure.

I have tachycardia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachycardia), to control it they gave me bloodpressure meds that dropped it down to 80/60. Slept 16 hours a day. So far my best heart rate was up around 450bpm. Fast enough that they couldn't count it and the machines read "ERROR".

Here's another thing to consider. Pregnancy can increase blood pressure

I inhereted some lovely issues from my grandparents, which apparently skipped a generation. My regular blood preassure is somewhere around hypertensive, just below it normally, so I pretty much have to take meds if I want to live past 30.

I honestly have no clue.
Never had it tested, although I think it's high.
My heart doesn't keep a constant rhythm; tends to stutter and jump, and it also beats like a war drum a lot.

If you can hear your own heartbeat, it's too high.

I can't hear it unless it's freakishly silent; like, out in the countryside at 2am silent.
However, I can see it when I look at my shirt/chest...

My blood pressure is reasonable. I know this, because I give blood and if I can give blood, my blood pressure must be within normalish levels.

My blood pressure is always within normal range - sometimes at the low end of normal. =)
My resting pulse, on the other hand, is rather high. =(
