I can't listen to The Dirty Dozen Brass Band without getting in a good mood. Smoking weed is natural...
While high I can't get enough of Sex Mob. Something about free jazz versions of pop tunes...

Pink Floyd. Especially Dark Side of the Moon, or Wish You Were Here.
EDIT: Pink Floyd is best to get high to, for getting drunk: I like Jimmy Buffett.

The Future Soon by Jonathan Coulton makes me want to have a drink.
I listen to music because I'm drunk not vice-versa.
no. but any combination of sounds, not an artifact of nature or the manufacture and deployment of useful tecnology, premeditatedly imposed upon one's fellow beings, by human choice, does make me wish i were living ALONE in an unpopulated wilderness.

The Magners adverts make me associate stuff by the Kinks, the Byrds, Donovan and similar music with drinking cider, so I tend to get pretty thirsty when I hear them.
Also: Tequila! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hLQCA2h8kA)
Most good house or techno make me want to go out which generally means drinking at least some alcohol (aka getting drunk)

Ah, Robin Trower. Good taste there - my favourite song of his is Bridge of Sighs, or maybe Hannah.
But anyway, yes, lots of music does that to me, and Pendulum make me want to take ecstacy, too. Fun, fun times.
I've never heard music so bad it drove me to drink. I'd sooner turn off the radio.

I keep thinking that Royscopp's "someone like you" would be a nice song to play while stoned. If we broaden the media range for what influences get prompted, every time I hear FOX news or a speech by the president I think "I need a fucking drink."

House always makes me want to drink. Or, I dance to house mostly when I am drunk, that is to say, and when I hear house I feel like dancing, so it feels like alcohol is missing from the equation.
As for other drugs, I am so over all those.

Jimmy Hendrix - Third Stone from the Sun
Trust me, I know it's kind of lame to choose such an overused band for this kind of question, but this is the best song to get high to ever, mkay?

i agree with the dancing and fighting. but drink and fuck... hell no. but music is a way to unleash the soul and the constant emotion stirring beneath the surface. (this is called impressionism). and then each different style of a composer or musical era...each one has a different feel to it and each gives you a different feeling. whatever type of music or musician. and dude im talking all across the board... baroque all the way to screamo.

i agree with the dancing and fighting. but drink and fuck... hell no.You poor, poor bastard. Next time Bad Manners stops in your town, go see them. You owe it to yourself. And I guarantee that if you're not clinically dead, they'll make you wanna both drink and fuck. The sweet little Jennys likely will too.but music is a way to unleash the soul and the constant emotion stirring beneath the surface. (this is called impressionism).Impressionism, as far as music is concerned, is something very specific and quite unlike the shit I linked to. But impressionist music do make me want to drink... Bleach and battery acid :( and then each different style of a composer or musical era...each one has a different feel to it and each gives you a different feeling. whatever type of music or musician. and dude im talking all across the board... baroque all the way to screamo. If you want to use fancy artsy labels, expressionism would serve you better. Most western music, regardless of time period, is all about the artists trying to convey a particular idea, or provoke a particular emotional response in the audience.
which genre of music are you talking about in your last paragraph. i was mostly refering to symphonic composers when i was talking about impressionist (and expressionist) music. if you ask me about rock then they really dont do that....usually.

I don't really drink (and I smoke even less than I drink), but Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Iron & Wine, and Happy Mondays make me feel as if I should go and pick up some liquor. Actually, the Mondays make me feel like doing ANY drug....in combination with every other drug.
The only music that's ever really gotten to me while high have been My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" album and "How I Quit Smoking" by Lambchop. The problem with the latter album, though, is that you have to block out the (uber-depressing) lyrics if you want to keep a good vibe going.

Mindless Self Indulgence.
Me too. But they don't make me want to "get high" so much as they make me want to take some aspirin. Several hundred aspirin. And slit my wrists as well, just to be on the safe side.
Naw, not as such. Theres music I feel like listening to when in either of those states but nothing that specifically makes me want to get drunk/high to begin with.
