Ms. Coulter makes more outrageous comments. Stupid, stupid woman.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.

Asked by CNBC host Donny Deutsch what the U.S. looks like in her dreams, Coulter said it would look like the Republican National Convention in 2004

"People were happy,” she said, according to a transcript provided to CNN by CNBC. “They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America."

When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."

Deutsch, himself Jewish, continued to press Coulter on her remarks, asking, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?"

"Yeah," Coulter responded, adding "Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track."

"You can't possibly believe that," Deutsch responded. “You can’t possibly. You’re too educated.”

"Do you know what Christianity is?" Coulter replied. "See, we believe your religion, but you have to obey. We have the fast track program."

Later in the interview Deutsch asked Coulter if she doesn't want any Jews in the world, Coulter responded, "No, we think — we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."

"Wow, you didn't really say that, did you," Deutsch said.

Seriously though, it's outrageous comments like these is why people are paying attention to her. If she was just another Neo-Con pundit, she would never get any mention, but because of these outrageous comments, she gets the spotlight and that just fuels her to do more outrageous comments. It's a vicious cycle.

Let's realize who we are talking about here:

They're [Democrats] always accusing us of repressing their speech. I say let's do it. Let's repress them. Frankly, I'm not a big fan of the First Amendment.

It would be a much better country if women did not vote. That is simply a fact. In fact, in every presidential election since 1950 - except Goldwater in '64 - the Republican would have won, if only the men had voted.

After the later, I did email her and said she should practice what she preaches...... I of course never got a response.

Well, there is a valid argument against birth control. I heard that excess estrogen just gets pee'd out and goes into the sewer, which dumps out into the river. The water then goes back through the treatment plant where it isn't filtered out, and then everyone drinks it again. Hence manboobs and reduced sperm counts.

Yes you are - time to head to a psychologist.

Look at her face while she responds, she's made a name for herself by being smugly offensive, which may work around the dinner table with her snide, oh-so-full-of-themselves friends but simply comes across as crass and conceited when done publicly.

She doesn't actually care, she's just being offensive because she knows it gets a rise out of people.

She needs someone far more clever than her to bring her down in public, to make her feel truly foolish for her adolescent attitude (apologies to all adolescents here) because I suspect she's genuinely bright and could actually contribute if she wanted.

Do you actually think Ann Coulter is unaware of how she's behaving? I don't think so. I think she knows exactly what she's doing, and she can see--as well as you or I--that it's extremely profitable.

Having somebody try to "bring her down" won't do a thing. It's been done a zillion times before. It HELPS her.

The only way to make her go away is to make it no longer profitable for her to act the way she does. Arguing with her in public will not accomplish that. Indeed, the ONLY reason she is still so famous is because people continue to engage her. The ONLY reason she is still so visible is because of the number of people who think they'll be the one to bring her down, they'll be the one to take her on and publicly "expose" her for what she is.

Problem is, EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS what she is. She does, too.

She knows exactly what she's doing. And it's working beautifully.

I really don't think money is the motivator here, though it's a nice side-effect and I'm sure she manages herself to make maximum profit - but it's not what motivates her.

It's not about exposing her, it's making her feel foolish for her opinions and it actually would take someone she respects to do that, not the people she doesn't, those people who invite to debate her.

My first sentence was in jest and I should have added a smiley, the rest was separate from that.

i'm not so sure on that point. her role in the movement isn't really to argue with sane people, it's to rally the base. she's like a walking not-so-subtle version of republicans talking about 'states rights' or 'law and order'. they have her speak at their big conventions and fundraisers, sharing a stage with the most powerful repubs in the country, because the 25%er base is a bunch of fascists in the literal sense of the word. she can say things that are still not acceptable for the repubs that are trying to seem legitimate and not-crazy to say. and by doing so she actually helps transmit the fascist ideas into the mainstream so that they then are normalized.

i'm not so sure on that point. her role in the movement isn't really to argue with sane people, it's to rally the base.

I never said it wasn't.

Haven't you noticed how much easier it is for her to rally the base when she is "under attack" in some way? Did you notice her visibility spike sharply right after the pie incident?

The martyr angle is one that Coulter, and many of the most prominent figures on the right, can exploit for maximum gain.

she's like a walking not-so-subtle version of republicans talking about 'states rights' or 'law and order'. they have her speak at their big conventions and fundraisers, sharing a stage with the most powerful repubs in the country, because the 25%er base is a bunch of fascists in the literal sense of the word. she can say things that are still not acceptable for the repubs that are trying to seem legitimate and not-crazy to say. and by doing so she actually helps transmit the fascist ideas into the mainstream so that they then are normalized.

This too.

i
besides, she doesn't need us - she's on wingnut welfare. for example, https://www.newsmaxstore.com/nm_mag/brains.cfm?PROMO_CODE=3AEC-1
Let's not kid ourselves, though. They don't support her because they care about her so very deeply. They care about her because of what she does for them. They invest in her because it's an investment in themselves (which is really the only kind of investing they ever do). If she became a liability, she'd be out on her ass.

yes, but remember, republicans are always 'under attack'. if we got the traditional media to stop talking about her, they would just use that to say "waaaaaaah!! the liberal msm is censoring us and refusing to allow our ideas onto the air! so, here, have a copy of ann coulter's new book 'liberals something something treason something something hate hate hate!' and come see here at your nearest republican party fundraiser."

i mean, fuck, its taking gay sex with underage teenagers in the capitol building to make people liabilities for them at this point. so until we get video of her demanding a pair of sexual partners to pretend to be the clintons, we've probably got nothing.

our real problem is that we need, at some point, to do something about the significant fascist problem in this country.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be legally done that professional trolls like her can play up as persecution. Disagree with her views? Persecution. Ignore her? Persecution.

The only way to utterly destroy her credibility base is to get a couple of compromising photographs like maybe if she was in a hippie suit while smoking weed or something.

Hmm, no. That wouldn't work either. Maybe a hidden taped record of her admitting that she's scamming the people. That would help.

The easiest method would probably be a signed statement indicating retirement somewhere in a Muslim community or something, and then making her disappear for good. But that carries its own set of problems.

I guess for me, the worry is that she would enforce her general positions broadly and without restraint. I have lots of general positions, but few that I would be comfortable superimposing on the globe.

While I think the world would be better if the US used metric, I wouldn't enforce it against everybody's will (measured in kilotonomies).

Still, I am swayed by those who suggest she's just playing for profitable attention.

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat and was for distribution of all wealth.

She felt deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, which she expressed openly. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the addition of more government welfare programs.

Based on the lectures that she had participated in and the occasional chat with a professor she felt that for years her father had obviously harbored an evil, even selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.

He stopped her and asked her point blank, how she was doing in school. She answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain. That she studied all the time and never had time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have many college friends because of spending all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your good friend Mary doing?"

She replied, "Mary is barely getting by." She continued, "She barely has a 2.0 GPA," adding, "and all she takes are easy classes and she never studies." "But Mary is so very popular on campus, college for her is a blast, she goes to all the parties all the time and very often doesn't even show up for classes because she is too hung over."

Her father then asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's Office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0." He continued, "That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter visibly shocked by her father's suggestion angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I worked really hard for mine, I did without And Mary has done little or nothing, she played while I worked real hard!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Right Wing Republicans have developed projection into a cinematic artform. Just look at all the gay sex scandals that have hit the media as of late; most of the offenders were noted for expressing stance opposition to homosexual behavior and rights.

Seriously? You think she's good looking? I wouldn't go near her with a 10 foot pole even if she wasn't such a damn theocratic neo-con.

"I wouldn't fuck her with a stolen dick!" -- George Carlin

It never ceases to amaze how those who are so insecure hate with such vicious vitriol their superiors.

The harsher the venomous bile spewed, the more jealous the actually are.

Such as has always been throughout history.

You do realize that this is precisely what Coulter does, don't you?

 Oh, shit! He doesn't!

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAaaaaaa!

The women is nothing but a female Howard Stern. She says and does things so people will pay attention to her. She sits at home in the dark curled in ball praying that someone will say her name. Knowing that she will shrivel and die if the media strays from her for more then a few minutes. She most likely doesn't even believe anything she says. But knows if she says insane things she will be paid attention to. She really just needs to be pitied. She's nothing but a sad little girl that never got any attention from mommy and daddy:(

Very warm...

Getting warmer...

Am I the only person who thinks that Ann Coulter once saw Marilyn Manson perform and thought to herself, "Now if only somebody would do that with politics..."?

I think you're missing a crucial bit. She's not doing it just to get a rise out of people. She's doing it because she makes a shitload of money and gets a shitload of fame from doing it.

ON FIRE.

Why would she care to think her statements through?

I agree with the probable multiple posters before that really, the news channels are really to blame for inviting her in the first place - what on earth do think she will contribute to any debate on any subject?

A considered opinion? An incisive insight?

Ratings?

HELL-oh!

*snip*

Interesting Coulter keeps calling her religious interpretation the "fast track". Makes Jesus sound like somebody with a fool proof system to make money in your spare time and live the life you've always wanted.

Jesus "Tom Vu" Christ?

Meh. We're both speculating, of course, but I'd say it's both. She wouldn't like it as much if it weren't so profitable.

You're still missing the fact that she's got absolutely no reason whatsoever to feel foolish.

SHE KNOWS she's full of shit.

She knows. If somebody she respected told her that, it wouldn't be a shock. She knows exactly what she's doing.

I don't think I've ever agreed with a single thing she's said. But I totally wish I'd have though of her act first, because I'd totally run with it just like she has. It's an absolutely fantastic life-long parody of the right wing...and the right wing PAYS HER to keep it up. It's awesome.

We have a winner.

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college...*snip the rest of this complete horseshit* ...The father slowly smiled, winked and said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Yup. 'Cause you can INVEST your knowledge into the stock market or other high-end investment vehicles and sit back and graduate off the interest. Better yet, you can INHERIT your homework and exam studies from your intelligent parents! Wait, you can't do either? So that whole story is just a load o' hooey? Oh. Cool.

Nice try, "talking pointer". SIT! STAY! Good boy.

Something you cannot assume because sin is always with us -- isn't that the way we are? A world full of Christians would be largely no different from the world as it is now. The major difference would be a lot more churches, and perhaps crimes would be a bit less sensational...maybe. Nope. I can't think of a single major difference.

My god, but some people are thick as a brick.

Subtlety is simply lost on far too many......

tsk tsk tsk.

Look, Fox-for-brains, you can't keep posting crap and then claiming "subtlety" when someone calls you on it. Your posting history gives the lie to every claim of "jus' kiddin'" you try and make, okay? So either drop the fake fascism nonsense or drop the fake sarcasm/subtlety nonsense, 'cause nobody's buying either one.

I really don't see what the big deal is here. Of course she wants everyone to share the same opinions as her, if everyone thought the same way it would make things a lot easier and would consequence in less war. Despite me being completely against her beliefs in general, I respect that she at least has the balls to express what a lot of people think. I would rather everyone be atheist, most Christians I'm sure would rather have everyone else christian for at least the reason that no one has to go to hell, I'm sure this applies to most other religions. This is the first time I've ever said this but, I actually admire what she said, at least she's fucking honest and not completely lying to herself.

I'm also con-fuddled by the fact that when anyone says that they want to live in a world without religion there is never a response as large as this one, hardly even ever a response. Even when people claim that they want to ban religion, there is still hardly a response, and people are almost sympathetic with that notion. Yet there should be exactly the same response, as they both have exactly the same implications.

You must not be paying attention, because whenever someone claims to want to ban religion (I can recall it happening once), there's an enormous backlash. And everyone I've seen who has claimed that the world would be better off without religion has been ripped to shreds for it.

We never said that people can't help each other or that the community can't help each other. It just shouldn't be forced through government in forms of taxes. If you want to donate money to the homeless, then by all means go ahead, but just because you do it doesn't mean I have to do it too.

On the other hand, expecting the well-off will possess any modicum of altruism and help out the less fortunate without any prodding or ulterior motives is the kind of mentality that fueled both Herbert Hoover's inaction in the period leading towards the Great Depression, as well as that brilliant financial masterpiece known as Trickle-Down Economics.

Whether or not it's even a part of libertarian creed, quite a few libertarians seem to subscribe to Social Darwinism quite often. And Social Darwinism is hardly compatible with helping out the less fortunate.

Every time Anne Coulter appears on television, I spend 15 minutes shouting at the screen, "WHY???? WHY DO I KNOW THIS STUPID FUCKING BITCH'S STUPID FUCKING NAME??? HOW DID SHE GET INTO MY WORLD AND HOW THE FUCK CAN I CROWBAR HER WORTHLESS ASS OUT OF IT AGAIN????"

And then I change the channel.

I can't tell how many reruns of Law & Order I've watched because of that mouth-running, nerve-grating, fascist fetish-whore.

You know why she has a career? Because there's no such thing as real news journalism anymore. She gets put on the shows because the controversy generates ratings. She is entertainment, but the EVIL part of the whole thing is that she is treated as if she were a real person -- not played for laughs like the ridiculous joke she is.

Hmm. This Christian tendency to talk about sheep, goats and shepherds. Interesting that in real life shepherds are keeping the sheep around so they can kill and eat them. In real life sheep are stupid and will follow the lead sheep (bellwether) over a cliff if that's where it's going. In real life goats are intelligent and don't tend to follow others into dangerous situations. In real life a shepherd would never leave the flock untended and subject to the dangers around it while going after a silly stray. Given that, I think I'll stay away from any God who likens himself to a shepherd - you and Ann Coulter notwithstanding.

That would be an insult to Kali ... a nice, sensible goddess of death and fertility. Coulter is more a goddess of impotence and slow decline.
