Radiohead, regarding them and the actual quality of their album.

So if you have the album, what do you think? I personally think it's amazing, a sensational work of art, best since ok computer.

Also, a question:

I really cannot understand why people do not like radiohead. It's the only band where I am actually surprised that some sophisticated and open minded people dislike them, because I cannot see how it is possible to think that, at least, their songwriting is anything other then top class. So for those who don't like radiohead, why is this?

Edit: If you have not heard the album, please do not vote. You can download it for free of their website, google it.

I like it, and compared to the vast majority of stuff out there, it's simply amazing. However, it really needs a couple listen throughs and time to grow on you, which really is fairly standard for Radiohead fare. There's also a couple songs I just find boring, but this is also normal for Radiohead for me. I usually need a certain amount of energy in my music. I really like 15 Step, Reckoner and Jigsaw Falls into Place once it starts to pick up some.

And I find that the people who hate Radiohead usually have musical tastes that...I frown upon. =P I know a number of people who are fairly indifferent to them, because it's not their type of music or they're just not that into music, but not many who actually, actively detest them.

My favourite are Nude, All I need and Reckoner.

Doesn't anyone want to explain why they hate them?

I really cannot understand why people do not like radiohead.I was pleasantly surprised when I bought the Bends, but most of everything I've heard of theirs done since then has been rather boring. Minimalness in music can be fine, but usually only when there's a really good vocal performance, and Thom Yorke's voice is at best good (as opposed to really good).

Well there is different ways at approaching this. There can be raw skill and talent at voice projection and pitch which can make someone amazing (e.g Pavarotti), and then there are those voices which dont sound amazing because of their range, but because of their character, distinctive sound, passion etc.. Which is what I think Thom has.

Can't honestly say I've intentionally listened to them.

I have to say however, the honesty-box policy is great, but they should have added one for after downloading - a try-before-you-pay-if-you-want-to-that-is, sort of thing.

My favourite are Nude, All I need and Reckoner.

While I like Nude, All I Need is one of the ones I find boring.

It's not the best Radiohead album I've heard...theres a couple of songs I do quite like, but the rest seems a little mediocre to me. Although like most Radiohead albums, it'll probably grow on me.

Doesn't anyone want to explain why they hate them?
I used to hate Radiohead. They bored the crap out of me. I dunno what changed :/

I’ve given In Rainbows a few listens, and I like it. A tad short, but it’s a good album none-the-less; as Rasselas says, not their best.

Nice mix of their electronica stuff and their more band-y music.
