Which Pope has done the most to destroy all credibility of the Catholic Church? Name your choice Pope, name his credentials, then battle them with other users Popes!

Which Pope has furthered the interests of God and His Church the most effectively? There are so many excellent Popes to choose from so I provided a few for ideas.

There was a reason why Pope John Paull II was the *pnly* Polish man to be elected to the papacy.

At least one of those people died long before the title or the position of "pope" even existed.

But I think John Paul II did quite a bit for the church. He wasn't perfect, of course, but I think he did a good job overall. He reached out to other denominations and people of other faiths and actually tried to do some good in the world. It's really too bad that his successor seems bent on reversing most of what he did.

Well, excluding antipopes such as myself, the only good one is JP2. He was the man. The rest suck. Old Benny I haven't formed an opinion on really--he's an intermediate pope.

JPII was the only one I've heard about who I actually respect. I mean sure, I could go on a tizzy blaming him for the aids crisis, but one can't really expect the leader of catholicism to tell people to wrap their wang.

I admire the perseverance of Benedict IX. Different people kept chasing him out of Rome, but, by God, he always came back.
And then he was excommunicated and/or assassinated.

He was also the youngest Pope ever (possibly just 11 when he took the reigns).

Yes, he did. With the intention of updating the Catholic Church to keep up with the times because the Church had been using the Medieval model for so long and it wasn't working as well as it used to. You know, what with it no longer being the Medieval Period.
