Ok, so we've ask if you believe in ghost, hauntings, for you guys to share us your ghost stories, to share local urban legends and ghost stories. Now, we must ask if you guys ever actually went out to hunt ghost? Well, have you? I have some stories of my own, but I'll post them later tonight, right now I need to go get ready for my flight.

The closest I've ever been to ghost hunting is watching Ghost Hunters on the Sci-Fi Channel. I'm a little too afraid of ghosts to go looking for them...

A friend of mine did and said he swears that he saw a ghost car. I've never had the chance to, myself, though. I'd like to do it some time, but definitely with a group as old places freak me out just for being old, much less ones that are purported to be haunted. I did go urban exploring this abandoned old home (like, old home as in assisted living for the elderly not...not just an old house) with some friends back in high school and we found this weird room that had to have been occupied by a squatter. What was really strange about it, though, is that there were all these old year books from high schools with pictures cut out and drawn and stuff. It was....exceptionally creepy. Since we didn't really want to get shanked we decided to move on to a different section of the place. =p

I think ghosts are a load of codswallop, but I still get the creeps sometimes thinking about it on my own at night.

I live in the area that was effected by "General Order #11" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Order_%E2%84%96_11_%281863%29

We never go looking for ghosts, but it is accepted that from time to time people in old clothing will be seen walking around old farmsteads. Usually it's just a glance and they disappear. They don't bother anyone so it's just a local curiosity.

Ghosts are not dead people. They are living entities. The difference between them and us is that they live in a higher dimensional field that sometimes intersects with ours in accordance with string theory.
We are mere microbes to them. They barely notice us and we barely notice them if at all.
But like all living beings, they can be killed, but we don't have the technology.
But this is getting into debating such a thing as whether or not a ball of light can actually be "alive" which I am not equipped to go into with much detail.

Ok... how do you know they are living beings? How do you know they can be killed, if we don't have the technology to kill them?

This sounds like a case of makeitupasIgoalongitus.

I like that word. The fact that it sounds like you just made it up when you needed it makes it even better.

I think ghosts are in peoples heads. I heard a quote once that struck me as sounding right in regards to ghosts.

"There is no haunted places only haunted people".

Then you're either not thinking hard enough or your not risking life & limb about it enough.

Here's the spin you need to have on that statement:
They bring the party with them.

One time, I went ghost hunting in a small town about 5 miles east of my home town. There was reported to be a haunted area surrounding an old farm house and barn. So some friends and I went over there, and we were checking it out, and eventually got bored with it. On the way back to my buddies truck, I got a cold chill like someone was watching me. I started into the truck, when I saw something move in the weeds nearby.. I was like wtf is that. My buddy said it prolly was a cat or dog or something. So I start to shut the door, and all of a sudden, we see this thing like run at us. It comes full speed at the door, and like shakes the entire truck, so my buddy is trying to get his truck started and its not starting. We are freaking out because this thing keeps hitting the truck, and its shaking the whole thing, although it was no bigger than a medium sized dog. Finally, the attack stops after about 3 mins, and his truck starts, and you can see the creature going back into the weeds, and then we like peel out of there, and it comes back and hits the truck one more time. When we got back to town, there were pieces of his truck gouged out by some sort of sharp claws. We called the police and they said it was maybe a wild cougar that wondered up from Shawnee. So, we got no ghouls, but got a big cat to attack us! :(

on a separate incident, I have been trying to get into this place near my school known as Vishnu Springs, its supposedly haunted, BUT the police patrol that area too often, and I don't feel like being arrested. :(

I'll believe in ghost when I see one during the day. Until then, there are better things to be afraid of.

Come to think of it ... ghosts would, pretty much by definition, be conservatives. o.9

Why? Is it because liberals automatically go to hell?
