What are you going to be this year?

I'm personally thinking about being either a flapper, a schoolgirl or Daria.

Although I don't have anywhere to go (so far) so it's likely I'll just be wearing a costume to school.

I'm thinking of doing something different this year. But it's hard to justify purchasing much as I have a generous supply of clown equipment at the ready. But in years past, I've done Ninja Clown, Evil Clown and Alien clown. There's only so many variations one can do.

Maybe I'll be a Jedi.

I'm making a fairly advanced werewolf costume that started life as a costume, evolved into a puppet, and has come back full circle.

Found a site online that showed how to make digitigrade foot extensions for less than $30 and a video showing how to walk in them. Looked *real* nice, very quiet and natural.

I won't stand as tall as the puppet but I'll stand about 7.5' tall, and I won't have to reinvent the wheel. It's easier for me to crane my neck and swing my arms and hips than to figure out the mechanics of shoulders, spinal columns and ball joints. Plus, wearing a mask, arm extensions and digitigrade stilts will be easier on my pre-arthritic joints than carrying a 30-pound puppet around.

I had a dude I was talking to tell me once that his mom was very Catholic and wouldn't let him dress up on Halloween. He said that she told him that if he wanted to dress up on Halloween, he had to dress like a saint. So he said he picked a saint who was decapitated, and walked around with a prosthetic slit throat on all night.

Nice compromise.
There are plenty of gruesome saint stories; I know that in a Micheangelo painting, I believe the one behind the Sistine Chapel's altar, he painted Judgment Day. In heaven is a saint, Benjamin I think, who was famous for being skinned alive. Sure enough, he's holding on to his very separate skin.
If his mom was really that Catholic, I'm surprised she didn't realize this loophole.

From the earlier linked wiki article:

The term Halloween (and its older rendering Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the evening of/before "All Hallows' Day"[1], also known as "All Saints' Day".

It's the same as for the theme.

restart after it's installed, then go to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions > click on the extension and then click options and set it up how you want.

There are a lot of really great extensions and themes on the FF site. Just about anything you could ever think of.. and more. The only thing you have to watch out for is that some extensions don't work well with others. Especially two or more of the same type of extension. (Like if you tried to use another session saver type extension with this one.)

Also, using a whole bunch of extensions might cause problems as well.

Three (possibly four) different work costumes, one parade costume (I'm the pumpkin King in a loxcal shopping mall event - makes me about $700 US for four days), and two different party costumes.

For work, they'll be kiddy safe, so probably the standards - cowboy lumberjack, and scarecrow. For the parties not quite sure yet...

Yay! One of my favorite holidays.

I am going to a masquerade party, meaning it doesn't matter what I wear as long as I've got a mask on. I actually favor dressing just kind of weirdly, or at least so as to be unrecognizable, rather than actually "being" something. Examples...goth, and some sort of old-school Russian fighting whore, I think, was the consensus: http://s63.photobucket.com/albums/h153/IlieNS/

This year I think I will go with a fun wig, some makeup I wouldn't ordinarily wear (i.e. bright) and just whatever fun outfit I rustle up. I am looking at either this (http://www.amphigory.com/wigs_z.html) wig, or this (http://wowwigs.stores.yahoo.net/subsiwi.html) one, both in the displayed colors.

What are you going to be this year?

I'm personally thinking about being either a flapper, a schoolgirl or Daria.

Although I don't have anywhere to go (so far) so it's likely I'll just be wearing a costume to school.

Oh, go as Daria! She is one of my favorite characters. Maybe you could be Daria dressing up as Quinn.

I'm going to be me - a 60-ish grandmotherly type handing out candy.

Yeah, I've decided on the Daria thing. I bought some reading glasses at the dollar store that I'm going to pop the lenses out of and a green zip up hoodie (I couldn't find a jacket that looked right so I figured the hoodie was good enough). I already had the skirt, boots and orange shirt.

Hmph. Can't make anything. Besides, I don't even want to go this year.
You don't have to go anywhere special/trick-or-treating to dress up.

Whatever.
Want to dress up, eat candy and get smashed with me?
First I have to hold a vigil for those innocents who died in the making of Halloween. Then, sure.

That's what I meant.
