If you went to Hogwarts, which house would you want to be in?

So I want to know which house you would prefer to be in or which house you think the sorting hat would place you in if you went to Hogwarts in Harry Potter.
I would probably want to be in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, and I would probably be placed in Hufflepuff, since I am crazy about working hard and feel like a slacker sometimes even when I've done hours and hours of homework.
So would you be in Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, or Slytherin?

This is a good question. I have to say it would probably be between Gryffindor and Slytherin; I possess the moral values one might associate with Gryffindor, but at the same time I'm a very intellectual, curious man with a penchant for elitism.
All told, I think I'd end up in Slytherin, only I wouldn't be one of the jerks from that house like Malfoy and his posse. I've always found it a bit sad Rowling never showed us the decent folks that did end up in that house, but always focused on the rotten apples instead.
Edit: Turns out I'm Ravenclaw after all. Must be because I wasn't ambitious and/or machavellian enough for Slytherin, and I had forgotten Ravenclaw valued intellectual prowess as well.

You have to realize that Slytherin is for the ambitious. JK tried to pull it off in the beginning, that Slytherin isn't necessarily bad, but then again we all know JK never could write for things she herself didn't like. The books are VERY VERY favoritist.
I chose Slytherin because based on the official descriptions, Slytherin seems like a pretty cool house:
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.
(From Mugglenet):
Gryffindor
Founded by Godric Gryffindor, whose symbol is the Lion, members of the Gryffindor house are favored for their bravery, which can be defined in many forms.
Slytherin
Founded by Salazaar Slytherin, whose symbol is the Serpent, members of the Slytherin house are catagorized for cunning, or, in simpler terms, street-smarts. They know how to survive on their own and, being ambitious as well, they generally like having their way and intend to go far with it. Not all Slytherins are Purebloods. Voldemort wasn’t one, and neither is Snape.
Ravenclaw
Founded by Rowenna Ravenclaw, whose symbol is the Bird of Prey, members of the Ravenclaw house are chosen and sorted through a desire to learn. A character needn't be a genius prior to enrolling in order to belong here. Always inquisitive, a Ravenclaw can tend to be the first to try something new, but it can also mean a Ravenclaw character is a terrible gossip as well. Their tendancies make it hard for them to make friends outside of their own house at times.
Hufflepuff
Founded by Helga Hufflepuff, whose symbol is the badger, members of the Hufflepuff house are loyal. As described by the Sorting Hat, Helga wished to accept everyone into her house that did not fit anywhere else, or were too eclectic. Those who were became eternally grateful, but also intent upon proving their house was just as worthy as any other's, hence their penchant for hard work.

I'm smart and focused on learning enough to be a Ravenclaw, but it's just not what distinguishes me. If I wasn't as hard-working as I am, I wouldn't be 1st in my class at my school, because there are plenty of people who are about as smart as me and a few who are smarter, but I work harder and take more difficult classes that assign more homework (and I do all of the homework). I guess I also get really worked up about things that I don't see as just, so that might be a reason, too.

I waver back and forth between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I'm not a workaholic but I'm not afraid of hard work and believe in fairness. I have a knack for perception and wit, but sometimes I'm just too tired to think. Gimme a comfy chair, a fine book, and pass the hot cocoa.
The books state several times that the House doesn't make the person and most of the characters show qualities that would suit them to other Houses than the one they're in. Even the Sorting Hat allows for personal preference.
Harry and Sirius: Born to Slytherin, sorted into Gryffindor.
Hermione: Would have done well in Ravenclaw, sorted into Gryffindor.
Snape: In Slytherin, brave enough to be a Gryffindor.
Hagrid: Very attuned to the earth, in Gryffindor.
Even Dumbledore admitted that he thought the school sorted kids into Houses prematurely.

Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, methinks
i'd be living in a quad accross the street, working part time, once i got the magical hang of putting extra hours in a day to get some decent sleep, and probably just auditing classess. or matriculated but not taking any and hanging out at the library instead. especially whatever equivelant of an engineering section the library might have.
because a, that's just how i am
and b, i still haven't gotten arround to reading any of the damd books or seeing the movies and i still want/intend very much to do so. i just haven't yet found enough round tuits yet to do so.
=^^=
.../\...
according to selectsmart, ravenclaw appearantly.
haven't a clue though really.
i do know i've never risided in a fraturnaty nor on campus dorm though, at any of the colleges or universitities i HAVE attended. and i've tended to take classes here and there on and off for a number of years of my life. never really used anything i've learned in any of them other then for hobbies and my own amusement. but i DO love university engineering libraries. and wish i was living either where i could easily get to one. or out in the boonies. one or the othere or both. both would be pure heavin.
i've always lived in cheep off campus flops, though i did one time have a gf who lived in a mixed gender dorm. that was pretty cool. i still would rather live in an off campus flop then any sort of on campus housing. even at hoqwarts if such a thing is possible there. ha, i'd probably live in a tree in the neighboring forrest if there is/was such a thing.
and occasionally having the goddess of all the little creatures in the forrest over for tea.
i'd probably be one of the guys who worked in the kitchen or fixed the cafeteria vending machines.

I prefer HEX. They have you write about yourself and decide where to sort you based on that. I think that's probably more accurate than a multiple choice quiz, as long as you write enough.
