What country can I move to?

Apparently, no matter where I live, I deserve to suffer because of what the leaders and past inhabitants of said land did. Is there a country that's completely... history neutral, that nobody in their right mind would have a grudge against?

There are few who legitimately deserve to suffer, but most do anyway. Lot of it is self inflicted. How far do you plan to drag that cross anyways?

Until I find a country where I am me, not some sort of pawn on a national chessboard.

I don't know of what you speak. I only know Croatians are generally nice people, the laws are lax, the temperature is compatible with human comfort, and they don't have an extensive public history.

No, there is no such place. Suck it up and learn to cope like the rest of us.

Terrorism isn't anywhere near as big a problem as you seem to think. Why not try and find a country with a low crime rate if you want to dodge physical attacks. That's a much more productive way to go about things if you are determined to avoid any attacks

I don't know where you come from anyway. Care to tell?

Apolgies, I require a larger context. Have the past inhabitants of your country done something that the rest of the world might blame the current citizenry for it? Are you actually thinking of moving, or is this just hypothetical?

That having been said, there are no countries without dark spots in their histories. But those spots vary in size and severity and also are affected by the collective memory of the human race. Like a previous poster said, few today would blame a Scandinavian for what the Vikings may have done. But today, many may look back at the actions of the US government and find that it "taints" the US citizenry in someway...which is damned unfortunate and rather...silly...if you ask me...

..."Blood Debt"...holding one's descendants accountable for the actions of an ancestor...is a pretty shaky ideology in my book...but holding holding an entire group of people accountable for the actions of a few, whether it be in the present or in the past (even if the group is not descended from the "perpetrators")...merely by association, is INDEFENSIBLE.

So if someone walks up to you on the street, demanding you to apologize for the actions of a leader in the past...tell him/her to kiss your ass...

I think the Galactic Federation is pretty backwater to the Space Pirates. Honestly, the GF are a bunch of wooses. All they do is sit back and order bounty hunters to do all the work. The Space Pirates? They have balls. THEY do the work, not some hire-hands like Samus.

You could always follow my plan and move to a different continent and take up the life of a hobo. I'm not sure which continent, though. I'm thinking Europe might be good, because of all the small countries with (presumably) not so heavily guarded borders to sneak across and a relatively high rate of English or German speakers, but Africa might be easier to avoid being found in . . .
Decisions, decisions.
