Has anyone seen this documentary? I find it pretty damned scary.

Here is the link for the first of 9 segments. You can find the rest through the this link.

Ruffy was talking about that in detail a little while back, iirc.
Or whispering in his sleep, i can't remember, kinda hazy.

Bottom line, though ... be afraid.

Yes. That movie is absolutely terrifying. Those evil people are brainwashing those poor children.

Unfortunately, I need to go to bed. Will discuss this more tomorrow.

And it shouldn't be too long before apologists and devil's advocates come out with the "They Don't Behead and Blow Up People" defense to point out just how Jesus Camp isn't that bad compared to a "typical" madrassa.

Look, they don't behead and blow up people like they do in your typical Madrassa.

Wait....what?

Actually, within the video, the chubby woman (who decries fat, lazy people in some bizarre act of self-denial) makes this exact point - that these schools are necessary because Muslims are training 5 year olds to throw grenades and blow themselves up as she says.

She makes the point that you have to get them early because that's when, and I think she actually uses the word, they're most 'vulnerable' to this sort of thing.

Ha ha, I'm at the Harry Potter bit now - man these people are weird.

...now she's washing the children with the water of the Lord - it's a bottle of Nestle mineral water - fantastic!

This movie just proves what bastards fundamentalist chrisitans are.

What disturbed me the most was that it would only take a couple modifications to twist normal charismatic churches into that. Add coldly calculated Happy Meal-style "get 'em while they're young and gullible" marketing. Follow patriotic political motives instead of what Jesus said. Go a little crazy to take it further and be more charismatic then the others. There you go, Jesus Camp. Religion (and other kinds of ideology too) is too easy to corrupt for your own purposes.

frightening ... in my office everybody stopped to see (even if someone couldn't get all they said) ...
maybe the documentary's quite extreme too (i mean cutting and exasperating things) but, still, this are the limits of human rights abuse ...
children (let's say that boy Levi) born in a evangelistic family CAN'T see outside reality as a normal and good thing, they are forced to believe that THEY are right and ALL OTHERS are stupid/worng/dangerous/whatsoever ...
the frightening thing (for me) is the adult way those kids approach everything ... they speak in front of others and they really believe in what they say, and in those adult words and thoughts, they inflate a childish involvment (like what you do with friends, you completely give yourself to them, and you're quite reluctant to do it when your older (not always of course)) ...
the sure way they belive they're right is absurd ... and, again, frightening ...
