NSGers and RL politics

Most people here debate all sorts of political matters. I think it might be interesting to know the level of the partecipation of NSGers to real-life politics.

Poll coming (as a way of lessening the risk of threadsteal!)

Hmm... I have voted in every election since I turned 18 and continue to do so even after moving to Japan. I keep abreast of my local (Home) issues, national issues, and the goings on in Japan (Where I obviously do not vote). Don't plan to do much more than that though as I wouldn't make a good politician and my life as a teacher leaves me with too little time to get involved in a political campaign. That might change though.

'I don't vote, cause I don't believe in the voting system' is missing.

Still one can select this option and be interested in politics

I'm not allowed to vote in Australia, but they graciously allow me to pay taxes.

I do vote in Germany per mail. It's a pain, but someone's gotta do it.

I don't plan to get involved in party politics, at least until I retire filthy rich and fund some libertarian coup. :D

Last week I voted that a committee I was on should order pepperoni pizza for their monthly meeting, as opposed to the same boring cheese we always have, but my attempt was shot down by a sudden merger of the Vegetarian and Dieting blocs.
Does that count?

Where's the option for "I plan to run as an independent in the next election"?

You got more done in one meeting than the U.S. Senate. :)

I'm currently not very active but I do vote (you have to vote here (actually you just have to come to the voting and you don't have to bring out a legal vote), but I would do it too if It wasn't compulsory). One day I do think I will join a party.

I'm a card-carrying member of the NDP, and my blog has shown support for their policies. I have also converted former non-voters into voters, who then voted NDP. :)

I am member of a political party and am infamous there for attempting to include IRV as one of the voting procedures for the party-internal matters. Also otherwise active.

Probably I'll soon help party members in a neighboring state soon to get enough signatures so we can run for the election in that state.
