UNITED NATIONS
Thursday, Sep 27, 2007
The US delegation walked out of the General Assembly chamber when Ahmadinejad went to the podium, leaving only a low-ranking note-taker to listen to his speech, which also accused the US and Israel of human rights violations. Gonzalo Gallegos, a State Department spokesman, said the US wanted "to send him a powerful message."

After the diplomatic success with North Korea acting like this is even more unforgivable.

Nah, they're just too difficult to take off quickly.

Yes well I am sure GOP 'geniuses' like Bush thought not turning up to classes in college sent their teachers 'a powerful message'.

How silly.
By the way, the Cubans did the same thing, except they left in the middle of the speech when Bush added Castro to a list of "brutal dictators".
What they should have done is heckle him until security had to drag them out kicking and screaming.

There's an idea. Give everyone tasers. And then spike the water supply with aggression boosting drugs.

I'm sure that scared the shit out of Ahmadinejad. I bet he'll just bend over and accept his place as Bush's bitch now.

I am sure Ahmadinejad will now have nightmares every night for the rest of his life about the 'empty chair' behind the US desk at the Assembly and the powerful and scary message it gave him.
I swear it's giving me goosebumps right now.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad = George Bush?
The only difference being that George realizes he's only a few more hundred fuckups away from the nation arming itself and torching the white house. I could see these two being very close friends outside of bullshitting politics.

That and George has been presiding over a clusterfuck and bodycount festival that Mahmoud can only have dreams about being in charge of.

That's lame. Sure, Western Nations are perfect but to say that we have "something in common" with these nations is to really minimize how bad human rights violatios can be in those countries. Having a national debate on whether gay marriage is equal to normal marriage, first of all is not limited to America among the West but more importantly, is not even in the same catagory as denying the existance of homosexaulity and making it a capital punishment.
Grow up...I know you want to jump at any attempt to attack Bush but there are MUCH larger problems out there.

Why is it that when the US does something that any other nation would do it's not okay but if delegates walked out on Bush's speech they'd be labelled heroes for their peaceful protest rather than resort to violence or immature behavior?

Yes because he's the first leader ever who is off his rocker...Would you rather him tell his delegation to walk out or order some B-2s and B-1s to carpet bomb Tehran?

If they wanted to send him a powerful message, some one should have stood up, pointed right in his face and said "You're a little faggot, aren't you?!"
Seeing Achmenidijihad's rant about no gays in Iran, that'd really piss him off...don't you think? Seriously, those are some strong fightin' words.

Because Bush is criminally insane?
I'm sure you have proof (in the form of court and psychiatrist's medical documents) to confirm your statement.
Note, this is not me supporting Bush, as I really don't like him (and didn't vote for him either time). This is to prove that AP makes unfounded statements simply to be a fashionable anti-American.

I find it odd that people are defending Bush here... :p
Though not officially, Bush can't be far off criminally insane... :(
And since I have hardly seen one of these in a post in a while, a fluffle: :fluffle:
Seriously, though, Bush's idea of "a tough stance" is child's play. No wonder the US is messed up (I'm not talking about it's people, rather the government, which is borderline freaking insane.
When, oh when will the citizens of the United States say "enough is enough"?
