Does Obama still have a shot at the presidency?

I really think he does (though my overwhelming optimism may be clouding my perception) but a lot of people seem to have assumed he doesn't stand a chance. Last I'd heard, he'd raised nearly as much money as Hillary.
Failing having him as president, I think vice president Obama would be a good balance to Hillary's pragmatism.
Gah, was meant to be a poll. let me see if I can fix it.
If Billary implodes yes, otherwise best he can hope for is VP. I think he'd bring a good balance to the super bitch express. Though frankly I'd prefer him as a candidate.

Hypothesis:
The right is "resigned" to Hillary winning the nomination because the more they repeat it, the more it sticks in peoples' minds, just as planned.
And I think they actually do stand a chance in hell against Hillary.

yes he does. so does john edwards and even bill richardson.
support for hillary is high but its soft. if obama can make more of a splash with the public, if hillary doesnt come in first in iowa, if she makes a mistake, he can catch up with her.
he is the kind of candidate who could really inspire the public. especially when contrasted with giuliani's fear mongering approach.

He never had a shot. Hillary stands no chance either. Honestly, I think the democrats are going to fail to run a decent candidate that could actually win in an election that they should beable to win easily. At this rate whichever Republican is nominated is going to be the next president, and without much of a challenge.
Putting Barrack Osama...err...I mean Obama...and Hillary on the same ticket would basically be giving the election to the Republicans. Edwards certainly is not going to help either one of them either.

Nope. The sad thing is that a great candidate like Mike Gravel has even less of a chance than him.

No I do think Hilary has a chance. I'm not sure with the Republicans though. I shudder to imagine Mitt Romney in power, a Mormon neocon? Ugh.

I don't think the government should impose religion on others, but we have attempted a "secular" government for 200 years and somehow Christianity still dictates society.

It is unfortunate that we have only 2 partiesin power, but that's how it is. You have to work through them, use them. For example, I have an ideology much more leftist and liberal than any Democrat, but I'm all for hijacking the party to push my beliefs through.

I'm Canadian, so it doesn't affect me as much as it does a US citizen.. I really have to be concerned who's whining will be worse; the people crying racism if Obama loses, or the people crying chauvinism if Hillary loses.
That aside, I think I prefer Obama. He's a stately man, and when he speaks, it's easy to listen to him. Sometimes I see him on TV and he reminds me of a black Lincoln.
But whoever loses can just run again in 4/8 years, right?

Social evolution in my view are people abandoning the religious barriers that stall progress, and uniting as one people, aiding rather than exploiting each other while advancing their quality of life. So uhh sure.
Sad, innit?
I always find racism pathetic. There are so many better reasons to loathe someone, wait til they talk for instance.

In all of the polls that have Hillary ahead, single women are consistantly a big demographic in her favor. This groups does not vote in large numbers historicaly. If that pattern holds, Obama has a chance to take the nomination. That is why I voted yes on this question.
However, if Hillary can mobilize this demographic, it could change the face of American politics. Before 1980 christian evangelicals were not considered a major factor in modern American elections, now they are. Turnout matters and there is a chance that if single women begin to vote in numbers commersiate with thier share of the population, the outcome would likely be a shift to the left in the American electorate.

The Republicans have ass. Romney has the best shot at winning the nomination and he's a Mormon. That's saying something.

I've heard him speak; he sounds like Gordon Brown without the toned down scoth accent. Bombstic, simplistic and demagoguic.

I was referring to general Western (and usually Christian) perception of Satanism, based on the name alone. I personally find it a Stoic Philosophy that unfortunately has to rely on shock-jock level advertising to garner any attention at all.
