Have you learned more about life from your own mistakes, or from watching others making mistakes?

For me, I have learned from watching others, especially my parents, make mistakes.

i only learn from mistakes if i notice them and i make them multiple times. the first happens rarely but the second happens in perpetuam, so somewhere along the line i will learn but my actions are not goverened by wisdom so my learning has little influence upon them.

I had older siblings so I managed to avoid a lot of their pitfalls in life...which just meant I fell into other holes instead.

I have seen a lot of mistakes in my life, and for the most part been able to avoid making the same ones.......but, oh, paying for my own mistakes? yikes, that's just not fair.

i try to learn from the mistakes of others. that saves me a lot of pain.

i have learned from my own mistakes but they tend to be the type that cant be repeated anyway. like i know now that i didnt deal with my son's sleeping habits as a baby the right way. he's 21 now so cant fix that one.

For the first twenty-one years of my life, I tended to learn from my own mistakes primarily. I figured I ought to fix my own before I go around telling others about their mistakes.

Now, I focus more on other possibilities for mistakes that are handily demonstrated by those around me so I can avoid those too.

I learn from my own mistakes, no question. What others do is useless to me.
