Your favorite hat?

Hats are for bald guys.

Edit: My thread now!

Edit two: On this board, favorite hat? Tinfoil.

I have two favourite hats. I wear them for good luck.

What type of headgear do you find most fashionable? For dated, I find the tricorne quite nice. For modern I happen to wear a flat-cap.

I fully expect Lunatic Goofballs to put a picture of something like a jester cap, or another equally outrageous hat up here.

I have a homburg that I enjoy wearing to work and just going out and about, though if I want to be a bit smarter I have a black felt trilby.

I also have a ushanka and flat cap. Though I don't wear them much.

Unfortunately I lost my panama hat (it was cheap so not too bad), but summer's over so I have plenty of time to get a new one.

i had a plain olive green military style cap that i loved. only cost me £4 but i lost it on a particularly messy night out and the shop i got it from has changed the style ever so slightly so that now i don't like it. they've basically made the peak slightly longer, the other bit looser and taller (instead of head-hugging) and the colour more... poster-paint-y and it looks crap now.
a bit like this (http://www.alternativeapparel.com/image_cache/alternative_apparel_sspi_314_ProductImage.jpg) but olive green and with no funny stitching on it.

for a formal hat i'd like to get one of these:

I'd totally wear a cowboy hat. They look like they'd be nice both on sunny days when the heat is hammering down on your head and on cloudy days with thin rain that is too light to warrant waving an umbrella around.

The problem is that I can't remember the last time I saw anyone wearing them here. I have nothing against standing out but would hate to be mistaken for an American tourist.

Well, I just bought this (http://www.spirithalloween.com/hats_character-hats/viking-helmet/) and love wearing my FC Bayern woolie during the winter (with matching scarf of course). I also beat to death a straw hat from the BVI which survived that trip and the trip to Greece. Barely. The suitcase rides gave it a run.

Normally, I'm not a hat person.

Same here, plan on purchasing the kind of 'cowboy hat' that the Texas Rangers use as their regulation hat. As soon as I am sure my ego/head isn't going to get any fatter...

I have no idea what the English or even German name for the thing is, but it is a Hat which is isolated against water so I can wear it during rain and my glasses and my hair stay dry. Also, if I wear it, it's far easier to balance things on my head.

My Favorite hat is this one that grandfather got from Sydney, Australia. It's not like a steroetypical Australian outback hat, just a usual surf/skate hat with mesh in the back. Good for wearing backwards, that kind of thing.

My favorite hat that i don't have, however, is a Napoleonic style artillery man's shako, this round, black felt, stiff thing (kind of like a top hat, but with only a short bill instead of a full brim) with crazy feathers sticking up from the front and a thin chinstrap. Or a tricorner. Those are cool, too.

i can't stand to wear anything on my head. even my hair gets to be too much at times. though i wish it didn't because i like the way longer hair looks on everybody. of any age, gender or species.

there's only one reason i ever wear anything on my head, and that is health and safety, as often that of other as myself. i've worn those paper hats you have to wear in food service, and i've worn hard hats when i was working in the minerals exploration, and transprotation infrasturcture industries.

but other then that, ...
i just plain don't find hats of any kind, physically aesthetic, on anyone.

I just received the last two of my favorite hat in existence. It's a low brim vacationer hat with a zen slug on it. It's like a lamp shade I can pull down and shut out things, it's a warm hug for my head.

I also have black pork pie hat for when I have to look presentable.
