I've been reading some of the reviews on the 'Net, and everybody's calling it some mythological shit. But what I've heard is that it's just a slightly improved Halo 2. I find it hard to believe that a "slightly improved Halo 2" is better than Bioshock.
Anybody played it that can shed some light on this situation?
I've played some demo type things of it...it wasn't bad...but then again all FPS's are really the exact same thing just different era's worlds w/e and weapons...

QFT.
At least i am not the only one who realizes this...Now if I could only figure out why the insane fascination with certain FPS Like Halo and COD and then why people hate other FPS so much
A slightly improved halo 2 is a lie. The beta and screens from the actual single player campaign show that the graphics have highly improved. Of course the graphics are important, but new weapons, vehicles, and improved AI will make this game way better. Plus the new multiplayer mode "Forge" will allow players to fight against each other WHILE making their own maps. The Elephant (a large vehicle that acts as a mobile base basically, and yes you can drive it) shown on the map sand trap (eh its sand something) will add to strategic elements in CTF and other modes. Four player co-op also makes the game that much better because hell we all know how its like to play legendary by ourselves and it sucks, but you can only use 4 player co-op over Xbox live. They kept it to the point where you can only play 2 people per console. If you have any other questions about the game just send me a telegram.

What you've just described is exactly what all the reviews say, it's basically just Halo 2 with more guns and vehicles.
I found legendary by myself much more entertaining than playing with friends...in Halo 1 you could kill your friend and visa versa repeatably to respawn with full health/ammo..IMO very lame.
then in Halo 2 they made it to where if you or your team mate died you BOTH had to restart that particular area and all the enemies you had killed were back to life...
now that was very annoying because I could clear the first few levels myself on legendary no problem...however when my friend keeps dieing and we have to respawn it gets quite annoying...I would find that even more annoying if you have 4 players and one dies and you have to all respawn...however I would prefer that as to being able to kill team mates to get full life and ammo.
Also is it just me or are only the first few levels in Legendary actually difficult it seems for me in both games I had a harder time and had to be more patient in the first 3 missions to clear them than in the middle of the game where I could sweep through missions with ease and didn't have any real challenges again until the final level stages and even they weren't that difficult...for instance in Halo 2 it was much harder to kill that floating prophet guy than it was to actually kill the final "boss" which took like a minute tops...
Lastly the only real reason I play Halo at all is for the online mulitplayer...

There really hasn't been any major revolutions in the FPS genre since Goldeneye, merely improvements in graphics, multiplayer potential, and the control schemes available.

They wouldn't make this huge hype about it and have everything going on about it if there wasn't anything changed. You'd think that microsoft would work hard on probably the best selling game for their system to make it better. Halo 3 is supossed to skyrocket the 360 back up to a big player. Then again, maybe its a final closing game.

I'm not as excited for Halo 3 as I was for Twilight Princess, and I'll echo a comment earlier that there's no way it's gonna rock as hard as Bioshock. However, I'm t3h balboa on XBL, so look me up, add and prefer baby cuz there's gonna be a lot of Halo 3 being played until Smash Brothers: Brawl hits the shelves :)

That's not how PR works. It doesn't matter how good Halo 3 is, unless it can resurrect your entire ancestry, generate world peace and shoot rainbows it can never live up to Microsoft's marketing campaign.
That said I hear that they've improved on everything to a decent degree.

I'm fairly excited for Halo 3. I'm even more excited for Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's review of the game.
What you've just described is exactly what all the reviews say, it's basically just Halo 2 with more guns and vehicles.
AND it looks prettier. Who cares what the gameplay is like if it looks better?

You are obviously unaware that Jesus was buried with a copy of Halo 3, which he played daily. A man who gets slapped around all the time has to vent his frustrations somehow. ;)
Dunno about shooting rainbows, though. That's just being ridiculous in your expectations.
