So, it's a Reuters article about a Newsweek story about a guy telling a group of people something? I'm assuming the 2 unidentified sources that Newsweek cited are from this group.

why should any of this surprise anyone? getting the u.s. involved in enough wars to collapse the economy so the constitution can be replaced overtly by military dictatorship is a stepping stone to the kind of world dictatorship pseudo-conservatives want to create and be in control of. all for the fun of lining their own pockets of course. and whoever dies or gets tortured or whatever else, what do they care, as long as it isn't them. though i think the're whistling in the dark to immagine the're completely insulated from any possibility of it ever doing so!

Mr. Cheney is not happy with the current war he and his friends started so he's fresh of the pines with a new war to sell. Well, not too many people are buying into his idea for a new war so if only he could create some situation where.... Eureka! Much like 9/11 gave him a reasoning to go to war in Iraq, and Iranian retaliatory strike would force us to defend Israel and lead into exactly what Cheney wants. I would be too. But "the only trouble is, gee whiz" Bush is directly responsible for half the nation's debt. More debt means higher inflation. The Iraq and Afghanistan are causing this. They each have a half-ass military, and on the whole the populations actually support us. Imagine what it would cost if the military was huge and well equipped, and the population didn't support us? Oh, sure fighting Iran would be fun, but it wouldn't be worth it.
