Mysterious green liquid found in subway

A mysterious green liquid was found in the subway this morning. The substance was discovered just after 8 a.m. on the tracks of the northbound number 6 train, according to transit authorities.

Environmental officials are invesgitating what NYC Transit spokeswoman Marisa Baldeo called a "suspicious green liquid." No further information about the substance was immediately available.

The 6 train is running express from 14th Street to Grand Central Station while the investigation is underway.Mutagen. Foot Soldiers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is all well-documented in the literature. NEXT!

In all seriousness, it's better to be safe than sorry, so it's good that this is being investigated. However, I'm confident this is going to prove to be something innocuous, like somebody's Gatorade mixed with someone elses alkaline batteries. I won't get into a rant about the messiness of my fellow straphangers. I only posted this article because the first thing I thought was "Mutagen!" :D

Fears of strange liquid found in subway just blowing smoke

A suspicious object on the tracks of the number 6 train this morning, initially identified as a green liquid, turned out to be an empty cigar box.

The discovery disrupted subway traffic during the hectic morning rush hour. The object was found just after 8 a.m. on the tracks of the northbound 6 train at the 14th Street stop, according to transit authorities.

Trains on the number 6 line were forced to run express between the Brooklyn Bridge stop and Grand Central station for a half hour between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. while the investigation was underway.

Environmental officials arrived on the scene and police removed the object in question. Further inspection revealed it to be an empty cigar box.I don't think I want to know how a cigar box can be mistaken for a "green liquid".

AAAAAHHHH! Conspiricy!

Maybe it was a cigar box that had been full of a mysterious green liquid... but by the time the authorities got to it, it had all leaked out and run away.

But maybe it was also a cigar box full of dishwashing soap.

It's pretty easy. I mean, cigar boxes are usually green bottle shaped items with liquid in them.

Clearly someone was on crack.

I bet its the stuff from those old toy monster trucks that turned into monsters. They had one that would 'eat' other cars by spraying green goo over them. That stuff got everywhere.

There are so many levels of wtf here. the liquid, the cigar box, the timing, the fact anyone on the subway was looking somewhen other than their own feet, which implies, then, that someone stepped in this mutagenic tardis of a cigar box and is going to become a turtle or something...

For your consideration... An average rider of mass transport spots what could only be a green liquid... However despite all searches it is found to be a cigar box, something that could never be mistaken for a liquid. There is no evidence the any Green liquid even existed... at all.

Perhaps next time the rider should just pay attention to where they get on.
Instead of looking at the rails... to the twilight zone.
