i was waiting to see if the iraqi government could ...
to me its a test of puppetry.I think this is a good idea.. we should look into landmark Iraqi claims of sovereignty.. and see if sovereignty it is.

I should post one/week.. this one is for this week:

Kurd Government denounce U.S. detention of Iranian trade delegate.
Thu Sep 20 - SULAIMANIYAH, Iraq — U.S. troops arrested an Iranian man during an early morning raid on a hotel in this northern Iraqi city Thursday and accused him of helping to smuggle a deadly type of roadside bomb into Iraq .

But the Kurdistan Regional Government in a statement called the arrest "illegitimate," said the man was a member of a trade delegation that had been invited to Sulaimaniyah by the local government and demanded that he be released.

The U.S. statement didn't identify the man except to allege that ... (usual terrorism allegations)

The Kurdish Regional Government said the man was Aghai Farhadi, a member of an economic and commercial delegation from the Iranian governorate of Karmanshah, which borders Iraq's Sulaimaniyah and Diyala provinces.

Hassan Baqi , the head of the Sulaimaniyah chamber of commerce, said Farhadi had been in Sulaimaniyah for a week for discussions on opening a border crossing near Panjween,68 miles east of Sulaimaniyah , and other trade-related issues.

It was unknown what evidence, if any, American troops recovered when they seized the man at the Sulaimaniyah Palace Hotel . Saifudean Ahmed, Sulaimaniyah's security director, said 20 U.S. soldiers took part in the arrest. Witnesses said helicopters hovered over the scene for two hours.

So here are the key points:

# 20 US soldiers sized an Iranian.
# They allege their usual "terrorism" stuff.
# The "sovereign" Gov in place says "Bullshit"... says he should not have been arrested. and demanded that he be released.

So, where is the sovereignty?

The expulsion of Blackwater is nothing compared to the crap the CPA under Bremer inflicted on Iraq, including having to pay war reparations from Saddam to every corporation under the sun who claims to have 'suffered' from Saddams invasion of Kuwait. This also includes the interim constitution (also written by der Fuhrer Paul Bremer) which means future Iraqi governments can't override his 'free market reforms' which give 100% foreign ownership to Iraqi companies and 100% of the profits out of the country, a flat 15% tax etc. As Naomi Klein rightly put it, it's the challenge of the Iraqis the 'defuse the minefield' the US dictatorship over Iraq left in place to prevent real meaningful democracy, and instead institute their own ideological fantasy of corporatism. The US never wants to leave Iraq, because that would mean loosing their imperial possession, and if Bremer's laws go, so does the reason for invading.
