Author Robert Jordan dies (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070917/ap_on_en_ot/obit_jordan)

While mourning the passing of an excellent writer, I'm also hoping he left enough notes so his masterpiece can be completed. Nothing yet on the Tor site (http://www.tor.com/jordan/) and the "dragonmount" (http://www.dragonmount.com/RobertJordan) blog seems to be down.

It was already on it's third book when I was introduced to the series in High School.

I only read the first two books, but now how can I finish the series?

Thank god. I read the series up to about book 7 or 8. It really started to drag by that time. As though he was just milking the series because he only had one creative idea and had already used it up.

6-9 dragged, agreed. 10 and 11 picked up a bit as he started closing off side stories.

Now you know how people felt when Gordon R. Dickson died.

(And no, antagonist doesn't make up for it. Not to mention the Frank Herbert thing).

my husband has been reading the series continually since before we got together, he could get through the whole thing a few times in between books, so I thought "man, he really loves Jordan" and so today I email him that he died (that Robert Jordan died, not that my husband died, he is still alive and cranky) anywho, he says "at least I know that he won't continue indefinitely...." :p

At least I know even the biggest fans were beginning to worry about it.
