Do you suffer from Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia?

What is it?
Well in short “fear of the number 666, the number of the beast.”

Is this real?
It seems so.

Any famous people that suffer from this one?
Ronald and/or Nancy Reagan. When they moved to some house in Bel-Air, it had the address of 666 Saint Cloud Road.

They made it happen that it changed to 668 Saint Cloud Road.

Can you imagine what these kinds of people did on 06 June 2006? :)

Did you know that the Apple I at its first release was priced $666.66?
Or that the 2006 remake of the horror film The Omen was released on June 6, 2006 (06/06/06) at 06:06:06 in the morning?

R-O-N-A-L-D = 6 letters

Actually evidence suggests that the original number of the beast was 616, although it's entirely possible that it referred to the Roman emperor and so was changed when the emperor at the time died.

We now return you to the scheduled futility of this thread.

667 would be the guy across the hall (or street, if you're one of those rich jerks who lives in a house) from the beast correct? 668 and 664 would be the flanking properties.
I really pity 566, the guy who lives one block over from the Beast but keeps getting his mail by mistake. Fucking USPS.

Nothing. That's the point. A phobia is defined as an intense, irrational fear of an object, situation or symbol that disrupts daily life.

Clinically, yes. Someone who is agoraphobic or gephyrophobic is indeed afraid of open spaces (crowds) or bridges, to the exclusion of rational thought when the terror object is present or mentioned.

However, "phobias" regarding 13 or 666 or whatever symbolic thing you'd care to mention play fast and loose with the definition of phobia and rush, headlong, into what are actually paranoid superstitions. Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

but to suggest that the number wasn't 666 originally is as blasphemous as stating that there are multiple gods who are incredibly inconsistant in the old testament, or that the Binding of Isaac is commonly mistranslated...

One course requirement is to meet with him atleast once.
However, despite the fact that I have been late to both class meeting so far (the bus broke down both times. I have awful luck), he seems to really like my point of view

Oh, and here's some really messed up $h!t.

Let's assume that Barney is a "Cute Purple Dinosaur."

Now, in Roman letters, "U" become "V".

So we have Barney = "CVTE PVRPLE DINOSAVR", yes?

Extracting the mathematically important terms, we have

CV V L DI V

Translated into numbers, we have

100, 5, 5, 50, 500, 1, and 5.

500+100+50+5+5+5+1=?

666. The number of the beast.
