Games I already have and would recommend include Oblivion, Gears of War, BioShock, and Prey. If you somehow haven't played Jade Empire yet, it's BC'd and well worth playing.

It's not out yet, but Mass Effect, Bioware's latest RPG, is looking absolutely fantastic.

Yeah, I was going to point out Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and CoD4, but I don't think he wants to wait until November. :p

Halo 3
GTA IV
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Fable 2
Guitar Hero II (and III when it comes out)
Gears of War
Call of Duty 2 and 3 (2's my personal favorite)

Bio Shock looks cool
FEAR I hear is the kinda game you don't want to be playing in the middle of the night and alone... So unless you like to scare yourself shitless... (Like me)

Deff. get Force Unleashed when it comes out next spring if you're a Star Wars fan. Only a 360 feature if memory serves.

and when you get arcade games, be sure to get Geometry Wars. That's all I can think of at the top of my head

Try getting into the CoD 4 beta. That's quite fun. Also I can repeat all the recommendations about Oblivion and the Call of Duty 2 and 3. Also a couple of my friends have said MoH: Airborne is quite good, though I haven't tried it yet.

Bioshock:
Get it, GET IT NOW!.

Dead Rising:
Rather short in my opinion, but to fully explore the game would take at least two or three rentals. Every now and then I plug it in just to grab a lawnmower and drown my stress in an ocean of zombie blood.

Oblivion:
I've been playing this game nearly everyday since it came out.

F.E.A.R.:
Silent Hill + Halo = YES

Stranglehold (rental): Black did it better, but I love the style of the game. I am hoping for a sequel...but without the story for the love of god.

This is down to $20 or $30: should I buy it? I really want to.

Totally agree:)

Bioshock is currently the best game out on the 360 IMO!

F.E.A.R. for PC was sick hot awesome so I imagine it'll rule for 360. What about Bioshock? I hear nothing but good.

Definately.

Meh. I bought the game and beat it within 5 hours or some other retardedly short amount of time. Surely there's tons of replay value no? No. The multiplayer is combination of frustration, head scratching, and turning off the volume for the following reason:

Xbox live hosts a community who can charitably be describe as lively, and uncharitably as a bunch of hooting dick holes. - review for next gen consoles.

RENT Gears of War, don't burn 60 dollars only to beat the game in one sitting and let it rot on your shelf to the much more frequented Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

I play xbox live almost everyday, its great bar the increasing number of retarded 9 year olds who sing shithouse 50cent songs for the entire duration of the battle. Alot of folks on it are needlessly rude but that aside i reckons it worth what i pay for it.

All the good games coming out and that are out have already been mentioned but one game to avoid is Blue Dragon, completly shithouse.

a good site to check out games is 1up.com i like how they review games and seem to be quite truthful about how the felt about the game, they also have lists of most anticipated games, so there worth looking at. That site has saved me hundreds of dollars from buying shit games :p

BioShock should be anywhere from 14 to 20 hours on the first playthrough.

I've spent at least 90 hours on Bioshock, and I keep coming back to it like a fucking heroine addict. The plot, and the story are absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is incredible. The gameplay is flawless. My only beef with the game is that it's too easy. Vita chambers are everywhere so there's no real sense of danger and that just draws away from the overall creepiness.

Also the supporting characters were good, too good. You couldn't care less about yourself. In example, I was getting turned into swiss cheese by a turret simply because I was too busy listening to Sander Cohen to care about the dumb thing.

I could go on and on about how much I love the game, but suffice to say: "Go out and buy the game, would you kindly."

Rainbow Six Vegas ftw.

I found Call of Duty 3 much too short. If your computer can take it Oblivion is much better on PC as it's easier to fix the bugs and get all the mods.

I've played through twice, and I'd still be playing if I hadn't had to pack up my 360 a couple days ago for my trip back up to school. It's a given that I'll play through at least twice more in the forseeable future. My first game may have been a little on the short side due to the fact that I was too creeped out to explore the entire city.

I found that the Vita-Chambers broke my sense of immersion too much, and chose to circumvent them altogether by reloading my last save every time I died. IMO, the game's better that way.

I agree. They should have had more tank levels. They were very fun.

I only played through Oblivion once because I did a large number of quests, but that ate up 100+ hours. Without a different ending in the story, I have little interest in starting up another character for a while but thats how it always is for me and RPGs.
