So tonight I decided to go to the homeless shelter and help out. Mainly because my mom asked me to help, and eh it was just for two hours so why not. This homeless shelter is run by St. James Roman Catholic Church and has been there even before 1984, it was basically the brain child of Deacon Dan. Tonight, I saw what people of all faith should be doing. They should be feeding, clothing, and sheltering their fellow man. They should make sure they have food, a place to sleep, and clothes. It was actually fun handing out food, tea, and cake to those who came. I was sadden when I saw a mother and her daughter, who was 14 months old, but the daughter didn't seem to mind. She ran around the shelter saying hi to everyone. Tonight, a little faith in humanity was restored. Which I'm sure will be destroyed again when I turn on the news tonight. I may not support the government's social plan, but I do support it when private citizens come together and help each other out. :)

What's this? You're saying that people can feel good about themselves by helping others? What have you been smoking and where can I get some? ;)
Seriously though, well done. Good job to lead by example.

Good work, sir.
I've been volunteering in an Oxfam shop for the past 4 weeks, it's nice to help out and it really opened my eyes to the amount of rubbish people have lying around in their houses; we have to throw away so much.

Screw Mensa, a homeless shelter is where you find real genius.
Most children begin walking between 10 and 14 months, with the average being about 12 months old, after the first few days they get really really fast. My children were able to speak in complete sentences by then (complex sentences), most 12 month olds are able to say "hi" and "bye-bye" and simple sentences like "more food" or "love da-da".
I don't understand the

It's a good feeling to help homeless people. I helped by not completely terrorizing my mom when she was working for a non-profit housing thingamabob. I always felt very rewarded when she didn't yell at me.
(Kidding, it really does feel good to help out at a homeless shelter, and it's an excellent thing to do. :) )
