For those who don't know, the international authority that governs motor racing, the FIA classes cars into different groups. And various groups are then allowed to compete in certain types of races.
Once upon a time, there was a group called "Group B". The details can be found here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_B).
As you can also read there, a bunch of unfortunate accidents falling into a short period of time led the FIA to ban Group B rallying.
Do you think they should be back? Modern WRC rallyes are afterall a bit boring. It's hard to get as excited about those tiny cars, where it is so obvious that if only the rules allowed it, they could be so much faster.

There's a bit of footage of Group B racing. As you can see, they're mean, scary, violent cars. Driving them on gravel or snow is probably as dangerous as regular motorsport is going to get.
Still, it seems such a shame that there are no more Group B Rallyes.
