NS General Musicians' Thread

Well, musicians of General, it's about time somebody created a thread for us.

This thread is dedicated to the discussion of music (read: the music that we play, so don't turn this into another band/artist discussion thread --- we can discuss them, yeah, but don't overdo it and hijack, though that's probably too much to ask) and the sharing of recordings, maybe in the hopes of starting something like an internet band. That's not the sole purpose of the thread, but it'd be nice if that happened, if you get my drift. :p

I'll get things started by uploading a snippet of me playing a bit of the Rush classic, Hemispheres.

http://media.putfile.com/Hemispheres-Snippet

Keep in mind that I've only been playing since February, as there are a few hiccups near the end (I also apologise for the sound, as my amp is terrible and I had to max out the gain to get any decent overdrive). I'll add more recordings of me playing some of my own compositions, most likely tomorrow.

So, those of you who have an instrument, a microphone, and a sound card, you know what to do. If we get enough of us together, we could make something epic.

Epic, you say?
*ponders*

It's magic it's tragic it's a loss it's a win!
It's dark it's moist it's a bitter pain
It's sad it happened and it's a shame!

Hmmm.

You know how it's "location, '', '' "?
Well, kinda like timing. It is, after all Friday (nacht) as well, so the musicians are maybe out trying to glean some coin? ;)

I'm not sure what i have to contribute to the thread otherwise ... other than i got another Adam Kadmon book i didn't even know existed. I've got enough tech and theory to last a *while*

I think talking about what one knows of music would be more fitting than spamming nonsense.

Then again...

I play piano, oboe, sing, and write music (classical). I do have some compositions uploaded, but only in midi, and linking to them would reveal rather a lot of personal details to you all....

I can sing a bit, and play the keyboard (or I suppose the piano) a bit. Not much, though, although I was the one-time lead singer of a kind-of-ska-ish band.

Fun times, fun times.

I'm no instrument player, but I can sing. I'm not really that good, sorta like a bad Ozzy Osbourne. I'll get a recording of myself up sometime, if I can get some time to myself.

I used to sing, until my voice broke. I mean really broke, it doesn't work like that anymore. Yay for technically becoming a second bass, or not. Apart from that I'm a lax sax player and a failed bassist.

Obviously never stopped Tom Waits.
