I was looking on YouTube before and the amount of "RIP" comments on his videos per minute was interesting..

What a great voice. When I get home, we'll have to listen to a few of his albums for a tribute.

I saw this earlier. I have no flippant comments to make - I am saddened by the passing of beauty.

Rest in Peace, Pavarotti. The loss of an Italian National Treasure.

He will be sorely missed by many worldwide.

Yes- he was a very talented artist with the ability and charisma to bring his art to masses that might not normally pay attention.

I agree. I don't like opera but I saw a couple of his performances on TV and I will admit he had a fantastic voice.

RIP indeed.

Tragic as this undoubtedly is, there may be a positive side. If we can find a freezer large enough, all remaining cannibal tribes have just had their food supply problems solved for a generation.

What? Are you against recycling?

If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

We mark the passing of a talent of extraordinary scope. An artist of uncommon ability, with an uncanny capacity for blurring boundaries.

I keep wanting to make a dead parrot reference, but despite the assonance it just doesn't scan right.

Truly a world class talent. Though not an opera fan myself, you have to respect that.

But there's a bright side to everything if you look hard enough...

I got 2 points in our office death pool for being the only one to pick him!

I am not an opera fan by any definition, but his voice... Nessun Dorma is pretty much the only opera I like, and he did it so beautifully. And believe you me, I am a pretty uncultured lout.
