The iPod touch will be in shops by the end of September.

Said Mr Jobs: "It's one of the seven wonders of the world - it's just incredible."

An iPod is good if you're feeling the need to break something. I had a broken one on hand yesterday and it felt good to slam it against cement. It didn't break instantly, it took a few good smashes before the casing cracked open but still felt good nonetheless.

I love, love, love the iPod Touch (so sexy, so functional, so seemingly perfect) and would so already have ordered one... were it not for the pathetic storage capacity. 16 GB at the most? True, solid state, but would it have been so hard to have a hard drive version with the storage capacity of the iPod Classic and all the other features of the Touch?!

I guess I'll have to wait for the touch versions to get respectable storage, because the iPod Classic, while at a nice price for the size, just isn't as sexy as the Touch, and it's bloody obvious that the Classic line will eventually be phased out, perhaps even in the next "overhaul". Too bad, really...

Other than that I will manage a meh about the iPod itself and a STFU about Jobs and his over-enthusiasm. I know these things are paying your salary, but seventh wonder of the world? That's pushing it.

Having garnered the idea that the Apple is tied to i-tunes and Apple related software etc in general, I avoided it like the plague, as I have music from multipe sources. I'd rather something I can just lash mp3s in that doesnt ask questions about where they're from.

I've very rarely ever had problems with iTunes refusing my music. And, the few times it has happened, I've just found other sources that iTunes accepts.

The iPod is nice because it has massive support everywhere. I don't give a damn how trendy or whatnot it is, it's useful and has tons of peripherals...that's what makes it better for me than other MP3 players. People need to pull their head out of their ass and stop the iPod hate.

There are so many better priced and more functional players out there, besides the iPod, and cellular phones that beat the crap out of the iPhone. The backbone of this entire enterprise is the stylish nature of it all, without that it's doomed.

What an arrogant son of a bitch.

meh, i got a great mp3/mp4/wmv/wma/jpg/divx player for £120 (as opposed to the £199 in the article) with twice as much memory as that. i think it looks cool too in brushed aluminium (archos 404)

i wish the media would get it in their heads: ipod is nothing special. its a pretty looking (subjective, of course) gadget, of which there are a quadzillion alternatives which are usually cheaper, it wasn't the first mp3 or video player on the market, and its really nothing special. i don't see why the media give it so much attention. i guess the reason is because of its market share. which was itself won mostly due to... the media. its a big stupid cycle of mediocrity, irritating to those of us not in the ipod camp...

[/end obligatory irritated rant] :p

I don't make use of them, then. Thesauri, not hands. Hands I make use of all the time. Nimble little things. If you don't make use of thesauruses then perhaps you should make use of a dictionary instead. Your use of torpidity is completely misplaced. Can you imagine if you'd written 'you are wasting your time with this sluggishness of yours' or 'you are wasting your time with this numbness of yours'? And as for a perfectionist such as yourself I'm surprised you pluralised a Greek derived word as if it were from Latin.

It also seems the only time when you give a fuck about "virtues" are when people are flattering you. You are too easily flattered.

Your point?

That you're not even full of it, because you lack the dimension.

If you don't make use of thesauruses then perhaps you should make use of a dictionary instead. Your use of torpidity is completely misplaced. Can you imagine if you'd written 'you are wasting your time with this sluggishness of yours' or 'you are wasting your time with this numbness of yours'?

Torpidity also means "dullness" in both the figurative as well as literal senses, pumpkin. Seems you're in more need of a dictionary than I, which is typical what with me recalling you're Anglophone...

And as for a perfectionist such as yourself I'm surprised you pluralised a Greek derived word as if it were from Latin.

English didn't get the word from Greek, it got it from Latin. Hence in English the Latin plural being used. If you're gonna try to argue etymology, next time know enough about it for it to be relevant.

It also seems the only time when you give a fuck about "virtues" are when people are flattering you.

No, I don't give a fuck about "virtues" then either. I whore myself out for flattery like a libertine.

That you're not even full of it, because you lack the dimension. And what is your second dimension? The ability to insult females as well as males?

Torpidity also means "dullness" in both the figurative as well as literal senses, pumpkin. Seems you're in more need of a dictionary than I, which is typical what with me recalling you're Anglophone...Nope. Whilst one meaning of dull is a synonym of torpid this does not mean that all meanings of dull are synonymous with torpid. Dull can mean slow or sluggish, as can torpid, but torpid does not mean what you claim it means. Your use of torpid is like me saying 'the torpidity of this knife is frustrating, it won't cut through anything'.

English didn't get the word from Greek, it got it from Latin. Hence in English the Latin plural being used. If you're gonna try to argue etymology, next time know enough about it for it to be relevant.I'm not saying your pluralisation is incorrect, I'm just saying it is a bastardisation which became acceptable.

Thesaurus is from a Greek root and should be pluralised by adding an 'es', despite being taken New Latin.

No, I don't give a fuck about "virtues" then either. I whore myself out for flattery like a libertine. Why? Why do you care so much about what others have to say about you? And you seem to revel in putting others down. Some might think you are extremely insecure about yourself. Not I though. I know that the confidence you exude goes right down to the core.

You're just miffed that I have reason to be.No, I just believe that to be flattered is to be manipulated. After all, flattery is excessive, insincere praise.
