Accept what they say?

Reading the "who is your role model?" thread set me to wondering... I don't have any role models as such, but there are certain public figures whose word I seem to trust. When they speak, I am generally happy to believe what they say.

For me, the best example is probably David Attenborough (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Attenborough). Since I was a small child I have watched his programmes, and have always found that anything he stated could be verified elsewhere. As a result, I find that I now trust what he tells me.

So, fellow NSG people, who is there in the public domain that you trust in this way (if anyone)? Why?

Bush, because I know he is lying, so I trust him in a reverse way.

Our "coldest state/hottest governor" premier Sarah Palin is in high esteem of mine at the moment ... no small accomplishment, considering she's a Republican (of sorts).

Also, my wife was invited to sing our state anthem for her, and accepted.

Bit unoriginal I know, but Attenborough for me as well. I think it has something to do with his voice.

Other than him though, I am honestly having trouble thinking of anyone. I guess I have three or four lecturers who I completely trust, but as far as the public sphere... No idea.

What if he says that all Americans are liars? :p

For me: Linus (Torvalds) probably.
