What is my favorite sport to DO, or to WATCH?
I don't like doing a lot of sports, I've been sort of dabbling in bike-riding and tennis but I'm not great at either.
I don't like watching a lot of sports either, I guess I'll see things involving competitive dancing or ice skating if those can be called sports.
American Football, Rugby, Hockey, Boxing or any other fighting type of sport...
Played American Football...watched Rugby...Played Hockey...I do MMA events and Boxing

I wouldn't consider skydiving a sport for me since I just found out I've been accepted into airborne training program...

112 jumps doesn't take that long at all to rack up really. I'd recommend trying it definitely although try to do a static line of AFF course (if you have the cash) rather than a tandem jump. If it's a one off for you the tandem would be best since you get the feeling of freefall.

What's the difference between ice hockey and "normal" hockey? I've heard of field hockey, but never just plain "hockey," which I always thought was the same as "ice hockey."
Keep in mind I'm an American, and many Americans (and probably Canadians, AFAIK) would share that question.

Now, I know I selected Rugby, but I did read that as far as the poll was concerned, they were the same.
Rugby differs from American Football in at least one major way, to my discernment, and that is as follows:
I can watch American Football and know exactly what is going on at all times. I know the formations, the defenses, the routes and the blocking schemes.
I have watched two full games of rugby, and I asked myself through the whole scrum..."What the hell are they doing?"

Never really watch anything except baseball and American football. Watched soccer a few times during the World Cup and got bored. Tried watching a rugby game i found on the internet and couldn't understand what the hell was going on. The movie was just a starting point. After finding that there really was no local Fight Club, a buddy of mine rectified that. We take the first two rules a little jokingly, mostly as a guideline to not mention it around the water cooler so that some of the guys aren't mistakenly labeled violent or anti-social.

What's Kendo?
Ken = Sword
Do = Way
Kendo = The Way of the Sword.
Kendo is traditional, tounament-rules style Samurai swordfighting. It is very straightforward, very precise, and very fast. It is much like fencing, but quite a bit more manly and tough in so much that you actually take quite a beating if you're not careful in sparring.
Matches are three minutes or to two points. Points are awarded for extremely clean blows that two of the three referees agree would have killed the opponent.
Equipment: Shinai (a bamboo practice sword, not rattan, that is bound with leather.)
Bogu (Leather and lacquer armor)
Kote (Leather gloves that cover the top of the wrist to about the middle of the forearm)
Men (sturdy cloth and leather helmet with a steel facemask)
Keiko-gi (practice shirt)
Hakama (traditional Japanese pants)
Aside from the tournament sparring, there are also several katas that teach precision and fluidity in movement.

I haven't read the thread, but I'd guess that a lot of people would not be satisfied with these poll options, as they include neither Association Football nor American Football.
And don't try to tell me that Rugby and Football are the same. They're not, they share a few common things (running with an oval shaped ball and tackling, but even the exact way in which you do the latter is different) but are otherwise very different.
Of course, growing up mainly with football, I did not know much about rugby until my sis started playing it. It's a very different sport, it turns out.

That's a pretty dud poll I have to say. Mine's there (cricket - truly the sport of kings) but "rugby" shouldn't really cover rugby union, rugby league and American football. Lots of Aussies like AFL/Aussie Rules football too.
And I'm pretty sure soccer, or "football" for everybody except Americans and Australians, is by far the most popular sport in the world. (It's kind of like leaving China and India out of a "biggest populations in the world" poll.)

There is only one sport and hockey be thy name. All else is for p*ssies as, if they had the cojones for it, they'd be trying to do their sports at a higher rate of speed while balanced on two razor-sharp blades of steel.
Of course, for intellectual adults the ultimate blood sport will always be politics ;)

Fencing (not the kendo, the lame European kind).
Although I am also interested in the Scottish sport that involves throwing the equivalent of a small tree in weight and shape (to watch, not play). Anybody remember what that's called? Caber, maybe?
