Protecting themselves against pirates.. wait, you can't pirate USB drives...

Of course the argument for DRM is to "get companies the money they are owed" and protect them from pirates. I demand to know who is pirating the software that comes on USB drives. Moreover, who the fuck is making money from it?

This DRM stuff is not to protect companies from pirates stealing their shit. It is to see how much shit they can get away with and still have people buy their shit. They are testing the limits. Eventually, those limits will be breached and people will get tired of it. Pirating is already easier, less time consuming, and less invasive than getting alot of stuff legally. Are these people trying to turn everyone into pirates?

It's not piracy, it's property redistribution.

I would believe most people here knows what DRM's are and DO care. I know I do. Most people does not equal everyone and those who are not in the know should perhaps be educated.

I will supplement it with this question.

HD and Blu-ray DVDs have more than just standard DRM. That is why Vista is "DRM compliant" or whatever everyone was bitching about about it. It is like that to work with the next gen DVDs.
