No, I'm 18 and I've never had a girlfriend. Although, I knew there were 2 girls who liked me back in middle school.
I've known of people who fancied me for most of school but I didn't think of it as a case of "liking" or anything. I thot "what I like about you is the way look" what's that about?

16 or 17, I'm having a hard time remembering.

I did everything I could to not date her, cause I was stupid. So I was really lucky because she was awesome. Smart as hell, not afraid to challenge me on anything, played the sax and the flute, ballerina, went on 100 mile bike rides for the heck of it. Pretty cute, too.

I was bummed when we broke up natch, but ultimately we where heading in different directions and even the places we weren't, I was taking a different route. I'm glad to have had the time with her that I did.

I was in 6th grade when I had my first girlfriend, that didn't last long. In high school I wen out with another girl, didn't last long. Then I dated this other girl on and off but she ended up dumping me while I was in training for the navy.

I've only had one real girlfriend and I met her when I was 20. I don't count any relationships prior to my collegiate years to be anything more than mere acquiantianships.

There was the younger age stuff, which was cute, but really shouldn't count. My first girlfriend was an Albino chick named Carlie. She was a lot more mature than me, though, and quickly lost interest when she was at the stage of sexual curiosity, and I was getting panic attacks about holding her hand. We were both 13.

I had my first "boyfriend" when I was in kindergarten, he only wanted to be my boyfriend though so he could copy my math drills......apparently single digit addition was beyond him.

I had my first real boyfriend (go out on dates, etc.) when I was 12, I met him at Wal*mart, he was carrying a ziplock bag with a dead goldfish in it.

It depends what you mean by 'girlfriend' I had one when I was 8 but then I moved to the Isle of Man so I could only see her when I went back to London.

So far, romantic relationships seem to have eluded me. It's not that I didn't try. I've tried dating 2 different women, but it never really worked out.

The first was caitlin. She's an absolutely gorgeous, stunningly intelligent and funny girl. She's a year older than me, I tried dating her towards the end of my junior year in high school, but she was just so busy with college prep and everything she didn't have the time. :(

The second was kristeena. We had been close friends for several years. She was my high school policy debate partner. I got to know her very well, and I eventually fell in love with her. But, I guess it was never to be. Last year, all of a sudden she just changed so suddenly, and I stayed the same. She starting distancing herself from me, and now its gotten to the point where she can hardly stand to be around me. I don't understand what happened, but it seems like the kristeena I know today is a cruel caricature of how she used to be. :confused:

I didn't get a girlfriend until I was 13. Unfortunately, it took two more years to get on a date. And now I'm stuck here, single, and have been for three quarters of a year. And yes, my last girlfriend was the only one who went on a date with me. And I regret everything between me and her.

Let's see. I asked out my first girlfriend at the end of the last school year. 3 weeks previous I had committed a major life fuck-up which has since come back to bite me in the ass. Although this was completely unrelated to her she still treated me like crap for it. As a result I've been avoiding all contact with her. I also know that I don't "have" to be in one to be fully satisfied- not that my ex was a particularly bad girl (we just didn't connect), but before I had my relationship I bought all the Hollywood-romance stuff about how I'd only have companionship once I do have a girlfriend without realizing what it's like to have one. A relationship is one of those things you really have to "experience" to have a feel for- no amount of people telling you what it's like can really do it justice.

I won't speak for Trotskylvania, but in my experiences girls tend to go for guys who are taller than them, for what that's worth.

For one, I had that "deer in the headlights" thing for about 16 months or so-i.e., "what do I take? When do I give in? When do I stand my ground?" etc. I didn't know what I was doing, and, having never been in a relationship prior to that, I never quite understood what I was supposed to do in each situation, and how I would want the relationship to pan out. Before I met my ex, I had a vague understanding of what it is I want in a girl- and, while I realize the next relationship probably won't be a cakewalk, I can at least say I know a lot better now what I do want in a prospective girlfriend.

As for the connection that is, essentially what it boils down to. I mean, we got along great and had a lot of great times together but I don't think we ever really became "friends". We had different interests and our personalities didn't really mesh and I suppose I was just so excited that I was in my first relationship that I didn't really catch it sooner that we didn't connect on the level I had thought we had. She wasn't a bad girl per se- it was just a matter of "she just wasn't for me", I just realized it later than I probably should have (I know my friends and family saw it sooner than I did). First relationships *are* a learning experience and this certainly was. Before, I didn't really know what I was looking for and after having that experience, I know at least somewhat better what I do want.
