There are many options for the best film I've seen, but narrowing it down to just one, it would have to be A Clockwork Orange.

The worst is without a doubt The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas

I'd agree with the worst one but the best for me... The Bourne films are by far the most action packed and best.

For the best: Apocalypse Now

I remember when I was with Special Forces. Seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into a camp to inoculate the children. We left the camp after we had inoculated the children for Polio, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember, I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I wanted to remember it. I never want to forget it. And then I realized, like a shot, like I was shot. And I thought: My God, the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than we. Because they could stand that these were not monsters.

Lessons that remain with us today.

Isn't that the film where hundreds of people die and they nearly got sued?

Well Bliss is the film adaptation of the Peter Carey novel of the same name, and is actualy the best film that I have evert seen, ever. While Street Fighter is a film based on the game of the same name, and is utter tosh, even though it had both Kylie Minoguge, and John Claude Van Dam in it. Yeah I know!

Best movie was Star Wars EP V, because Lucas didn't write his ridiculus dialogue that he normally does. :headbang:

Worst movie i was ever forced to watch a part of was The second baby genius movie. good lord that was terrible

well i think it would be self serving for me to attempt to judge artisitic merrit.

that caveat out of the way, i'd say the most dissappointing movie i ever saw, was the first, origeonal stargate move. the one that came out before ANY of the series spun off by and about it. that came out, it was sometime in the late 80s, simultanious with movie houses becoming unreasonably exorbitant.

just the absurdity of so many elements of the story context, that all the speical effects in the world could quite convince me to suspend disbelief in.

and i'm a great lover of special effects, especially convincingly alien ones.

there have been other dissapointments, but one "thumbs down, and one thumbs up".

my thumbs up, my, favorite of the three of my favorites, of all time, my all time most gratifying to have watched, and rewatched, and at one long time past having collected everything available in connection with it, was henson and oz's the dark crystal.

it was the first time i had ever seen convincing alienness convincingly portraid. and the first that i know of, really effective use of synthisized sound for both background and "incidental" music.

and i was absolutely the most visually gratifying movie i have ever seen. nor was the story absurd, even if it were a bit linearly traditional, but it was certainly told in a way that didn't get in the way of itself. nor did anything get in the way of anything. it was all creative and to me, utterly supurb.

Ahh the book wasn't that much better, it was okay, but about as scary as apple pie.

As for Dad's classica, me and my kids watched Jaws the other week, hehe it was gratifiing to see them jump in all the right spots

Best is a tie between 'Kellys Heroes', 'Eternal Sunshine' and 'Fight Club'.
Worst has to be a horrible excuse for a movie called 'A Dirty Shame'. I dare anyone to watch more than 20 minutes of that fecal matter.

I can't pick. I have seen too many movies and they are on this continuum of how much they suck.

Lately the worst I have seen is probably still "Lost in Translation", but if you add in teen movies to the mix, most of those are pretty bad (Cruel Intentions anyone?)

I think Clue was really well done, it's not recent though, right now......today....while my brain is mush......I'm gonna pick Clue for best.

Clue is one of my favorites too. One of Tim Curry's best, IMO.

As to what movie is all-out best is hard to decide, and worst is even harder, especially with all the crap Hollywood has been spewing lately. I especially hate their recent attempts to 'revive' old franchises by altering the stories to unrecognizable travesties. *coughTransformerscough*

I have a deep fear that the upcoming "The Dark is Rising" movie will be high on my list of worst movies, which is a shame considering that the books are epic.

Best ever: Tie. Casino Royale and Forrest Gump.
Worst ever: Manos: The Hands of Fate. (The MST3K version is awesome) In recent years, I'd have to say Lady in the Water.

I agree on all counts.

If Hollywood would leave my childhood alone maybe I wouldn't be so cranky.

it's sickening. Underdog, The Chipmunks.........can't they just leave it alone?!

I swear if they screw up Get Smart or Greatest American Hero, I am going to do something, not nice.

I've seen the trailer for the Chipmunks movie. I wish I hadn't. Of Underdog I've only seen pics, but that's bad enough. Other horrors to look forward to are the Smurfs (in CG, of course) and Thundercats (live action!).

Stop raping my childhood, Hollywood! And try to come up with some new ideas for once.

The best movie I ever saw was The Godfather. In more recent years, I'd have to go with The Good Shepherd.
Worst movie I ever saw is definitely The Notebook. I wanted to throw up in the hood of my hoodie. Inadvisable in principle, but would have made me feel better.

Amen to that. :headbang: I'm still reviled by the memory of Mission Impossible (I) the movie. I want a t-shirt that says "The REAL Jim Phelps was no traitor."

I find it impossible to pick a single "favorite" movie, but the ones I view as comfort films (the stuff to watch when feeling utterly miserable) are largely anything by Pixar.
